That’s why President Trump himself has offered a chilling warning to anyone disrupting the ICE raids.
Trump Signals Tough Stance on ICE Protest Organizers, Hints at Terror Designations
President Donald Trump has indicated he may designate groups orchestrating violent protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as terrorist organizations, either foreign or domestic, if evidence emerges of centralized coordination or professional backing. This approach mirrors his earlier decision to label Mexican cartels as terror groups in February. “I would do that, and in a minute,” Trump told the No Noise television show Wednesday. “I would do that.”
Designating an organization as a terrorist group under U.S. law triggers severe consequences, including criminalizing material support, freezing assets, and restricting travel for members and supporters under legislation like the PATRIOT Act. Such a move would also enable heightened law enforcement surveillance, expanded investigations, and increased federal resource allocation to address the threat.
The designation could have significant domestic and international implications, potentially leading to global sanctions for foreign groups. However, applying such a label to domestic organizations is rare due to concerns over free speech protections.
Recent reports have highlighted the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL), a self-described Communist revolutionary group, as a key player in nationwide protests targeting ICE’s enforcement of immigration laws. The PSL, which has ties to a China-linked Marxist funding network, has been linked to demonstrations in cities like Los Angeles, where protests escalated into riots.
The PSL openly calls for the dismantling of the American system and supports Communist regimes. Its activities include organizing anti-ICE protests in cities such as Chicago, San Francisco, and Austin, Texas, while promoting campaigns like “Don’t Open for ICE” to obstruct immigration enforcement efforts.
In response to the chaos in Los Angeles earlier this summer, Trump authorized the deployment of Marines and the California National Guard from Camp Pendleton to assist local law enforcement in restoring order. The PSL condemned the military presence, claiming it was an attempt to suppress First Amendment rights and urging continued protests against what it described as Trump’s “war on immigrants.”
Trump, a staunch advocate for law and order, expressed concern over the violence directed at ICE officers carrying out lawful deportation orders. He emphasized his commitment to supporting law enforcement in maintaining public safety.
“I watched last week as they were throwing rocks at brand-new cars – Border Patrol. And I saw that, and I gave them total authorization to stop their car and do whatever is necessary to arrest those people. Use whatever you have to use to arrest them,” he said.
The PSL’s activities are reportedly backed by Neville Roy Singham, a Marxist businessman who funds far-left organizations, including the People’s Forum, which maintains close ties with the PSL. The group’s revolutionary rhetoric and financial connections have drawn attention for their links to global Marxist movements.
The PSL has also been associated with pro-Communist causes, celebrating regimes in countries like China and Cuba. Additionally, it has defended Hamas’ October 2023 attacks on Israel, further intensifying scrutiny of its activities.
Through its “Liberation School,” the PSL promotes Marxist ideology, while its merchandise glorifies Communist figures and revolutionary movements. Despite denying connections to a recent Washington, D.C., shooting involving a former associate, the group’s rhetoric continues to raise concerns.
Separately, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has faced questions about her past involvement with the Venceremos Brigade (VB), a pro-Communist Cuba group tied to Cuban intelligence. Bass, who traveled to Cuba multiple times in the 1970s as part of the brigade, described it as an “educational project” to build ties with Cuban society.
The VB, which U.S. intelligence agencies have linked to Cuban efforts to recruit politically oriented Americans, is now fiscally sponsored by Singham’s The People’s Forum, further highlighting connections between far-left activism and global Marxist networks.
Trump also emphasized his support for his border czar, stating, “I called Tom Homan, and I authorized him to do whatever he has to do.”
