Many on the Right hoped Trump’s legal woes would end with DA Alvin Bragg. Unfortunately, this is just the tip of the iceberg.
And Donald Trump is set to be deposed by this Democrat Attorney General.
The Democrat Party has spent the better part of the past decade doing everything in their power to run Trump out of politics.
They’ve impeached him twice, assassinated his character in the mainstream media, and barred him from every major social media outlet for years.
But none of that is enough.
They want to send a message to any conservative out there who would dare fight back against the Swamp in Washington, D.C. ever again.
And now Trump is being forced to answer to a fraud lawsuit that has been peddled by a liberal DA for years.
This week, former President Trump will return to New York City for questioning in connection with Attorney General Letitia James’ fraud lawsuit against him and the Trump Organization.
Trump is set to return to New York from Florida on Thursday and will be questioned in James’ Manhattan office. James’ probe is different from the 34 counts of felony fraud levied against Trump by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg last week.
Trump’s visit will be his first to New York City since surrendering to investigators in the Bragg case.
The former president will be questioned by James for the second time on Thursday.
In the weeks building up to her lawsuit late last year, he also attended for a deposition with her office. In that case, he refused to answer any questions, asserting his Fifth Amendment rights repeatedly.
Democrat James has been looking into Trump since she assumed office in January 2019. She sued Trump in September, alleging that he and his firm misled banks and others about the value of his assets.
Trump and his children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric, as well as his associates and businesses, reportedly committed “numerous acts of fraud and misrepresentation” in financial records, according to James.
James claimed that Trump “inflated his net worth by billions of dollars” and that his children assisted him in doing so.
Trump attempted to counter James’ complaint with his own, claiming she was misusing her position and causing harm to his family and business. But, he voluntarily dropped the complaint in January.
During Trump’s presidency, James filed scores of lawsuits against his government, attacking policies on the environment, immigration, education, health care, and other areas.
And Americans should only expect these legal attacks on Donald Trump to increase.
Even if they can’t get Trump jailed at the end of the day, they will do everything they can to gum up his campaign to prevent a second term for the former president.
This is all just a political game.
