The radical Left hates the Supreme Court. If they had their way, it would be completely upended.
And this leading Leftist demands that Biden do this one horrible thing to the Supreme Court.
Renowned author and cultural critic Fran Lebowitz has voiced a sentiment that many on the political Left are increasingly adopting: the belief that the Supreme Court, as it currently stands, is illegitimate and must be reformed, if not abolished altogether.
During a recent appearance on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, Lebowitz took her criticism a step further by urging President Joe Biden to “dissolve the Supreme Court.” Such a move, if taken seriously, would involve the executive branch overriding the authority of the judicial branch—an action that would violate the very principles of the U.S. Constitution.
Her stance caught Bill Maher off-guard. Maher, known for his sharp wit and often center-Left views, appeared momentarily stunned by the extremity of her position. “Good to see you’re centrist,” he joked, trying to lighten the mood.
Lebowitz justified her view by asserting that the Supreme Court is a “disgrace,” claiming it has become the personal tool of former President Donald Trump.
“It’s so disgraceful, this court, that it shouldn’t even be allowed to be called the Supreme Court,” she remarked, eliciting applause from Maher’s audience. “It’s an insult to Motown,” she added, delivering a zinger that played well in the room.
She didn’t stop there. Lebowitz went on to describe the Court as “Trump’s harem,” a comment directed at what she sees as a politicized judiciary that is overly influenced by the former president.

Lebowitz’s commentary came in the context of the Court’s controversial July ruling on presidential immunity. The decision, which passed with a 6-3 vote, determined that sitting presidents are shielded by limited immunity from criminal prosecution for official actions taken while in office.
However, Lebowitz’s interpretation of the ruling appeared to stretch the bounds of reality. She argued that the decision effectively makes the president a “king” who can “do whatever you want.” From this perspective, she suggested Biden could seize the opportunity to dissolve the Supreme Court altogether.
This reading, however, does not align with the actual language of the ruling, which specifies that immunity applies only to actions within the president’s constitutional authority. Since the Constitution clearly outlines the separation of powers between branches of government, it would be unconstitutional for Biden to take the action Lebowitz advocates.
Maher, while taken aback, didn’t press her further on the matter, instead replying with a simple “Oh, come on.”
Later in the episode, Lebowitz shifted her critique from the judiciary to the residents of states like Tennessee and Arizona, labeling them as unintelligent. She even joked that the U.S. should trade Arizona to Russian President Vladimir Putin in exchange for ensuring Ukraine’s safety—an offhand comment that, while meant to be humorous, further highlighted her frustration with certain American demographics.
Bill Maher's panelist illustrates how Kamala Harris and Democrats condescendingly view 'Flyover country' states like Arizona, Tennessee:

Overall, Lebowitz’s comments are a reflection of a broader push from some on the Left to overhaul the Supreme Court. This movement gained momentum after the Court’s reversal of Roe v. Wade and other decisions that have alarmed Democrat lawmakers and activists. The most radical proposal gaining traction is the idea of “court-packing,” which would involve expanding the number of justices beyond the current nine.
Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse has indicated that if Kamala Harris were to become president, she would be open to supporting a bill to expand the Court. This comes as part of a broader strategy to shift the ideological balance of the judiciary in favor of more Leftist rulings.
In the aftermath of Lebowitz’s appearance, clips of her remarks quickly went viral on social media, with many discussing her radical and dangerous ideas.
If anything, her comments are a preview of what’s to come if Kamala Harris and other members of the Left rise to power after the November elections.
