It’s no wonder the Democrat Party’s approval rating is so low. This latest incident is a glimpse in to why that’s the case.

And a leaked video shows Democrat congressmembers in a humiliating situation that they’ll never live down.

Lawmakers Caught Napping During Marathon Sessions for Trump’s “Big, Beautiful” Agenda Bill

In a whirlwind of late-night committee work, three House lawmakers were spotted catching some shut-eye while piecing together President Trump’s ambitious “big, beautiful” agenda bill. The grueling sessions, which stretched into the early hours of Wednesday, tested the stamina of even the most seasoned legislators.

Social media lit up with viral clips of Reps. Blake Moore (R-Utah), Debbie Dingell (D-Mich.), and Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) dozing off during the marathon meetings. The footage, capturing moments of exhaustion, sparked both amusement and criticism online.

Around 5 a.m., C-SPAN cameras caught Moore, the 44-year-old vice chair of the House Republican Conference, slumped in his chair, head nestled into his shoulders, as the House Ways and Means Committee tackled the tax portion of Trump’s flagship legislation.

he panel, after a 17-hour deliberation, approved its tax plan at around 8 a.m., though the proposal has fueled heated debates within the GOP.

Meanwhile, on the Energy and Commerce Committee, Dingell, 71, was seen with her eyes closed during discussions on a plan to cut roughly $900 billion in spending over the next decade, including reductions to Medicaid.

Responding to conservative jabs, Dingell clapped back, “Been up for 31 hours straight fighting Republicans trying to gut Medicaid. Closed my eyes to think about an America where everyone has access to quality, affordable health care.”

Schakowsky, 80, also on the Energy and Commerce Committee, was seen dozing off. Recently announcing she won’t seek reelection in 2026, Schakowsky would have faced a primary challenge from progressive influencer Kat Abughazaleh, a former Media Matters employee known for monitoring conservative media.

The Energy and Commerce and Ways and Means committees were tasked with hammering out the bill’s most contentious elements—Medicaid cuts and tax reform—leading to prolonged and intense markups. These sticking points, especially the SALT deduction, have ignited internal clashes, dragging out the process.

Online, social media users showed little mercy, poking fun at the lawmakers’ fatigue. “Debbie Dingell is NOT woke,” quipped conservative outlet Townhall.com.

Collin Rugg, co-owner of Trending Politics, shared a montage of the sleeping lawmakers set to Brahms’ Lullaby:

Eric Daugherty of Florida Voice News didn’t hold back, posting, “TERM LIMITS! Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (D-MI) OUT COLD asleep while on the job. Do any of you get to sleep while at the office? These people have ZERO CARE for how Americans perceive Congress.”

As the bill’s key components move forward, the House Budget Committee is set to package them during a Friday markup.

The legislation, a cornerstone of Trump’s agenda, includes extending the 2017 tax cuts, eliminating taxes on tips and overtime pay, strengthening border security, and boosting energy supplies. Republican leaders aim to land the bill on Trump’s desk by July 4, but navigating deep party divisions remains a steep challenge.
