AOC is one of the worst members of Congress. Her radical Leftist ideology is incredibly harmful for America.

And Ocasio-Cortez was slapped across the face with criticism for making this moronic decision.

Queens Residents Call Out AOC for Sidestepping Local Crime Crisis

In Queens’ Roosevelt Avenue corridor, known locally as “The Market of Sweethearts,” shop owners and residents are growing frustrated with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. They say she’s neglecting the crime and chaos gripping their neighborhood while focusing on issues like gender markers on passports, which feel distant from their daily struggles.

Rosa Sanchez, who heads the Restore Roosevelt Avenue Coalition, put it bluntly: “We are more focused on the bigger issues. We need our congresswoman’s help to stop crime, drugs, gangs, s*x trafficking. I would love for her to address these issues.”

While Sanchez noted that her Corona community is “open and diverse” and supportive of LGBT residents, she stressed that “Public safety is the big issue along Roosevelt Avenue. We need her help.”

The criticism stems from AOC’s July newsletter, which guided Queens and Bronx constituents on updating their “Passport’s Gender Marker” to reflect nonbinary or other gender identities. The newsletter explained a federal judge’s ruling that temporarily blocked President Trump’s executive order requiring government documents to list biological s*x at birth.

“Due to a U.S. District Court’s decision last month, the State Department is honoring requests to update the gender marker on passport applications for the time being.

To request this update, the State Department requires an attestation form along with your passport application,” AOC wrote, linking to the State Department’s site, which noted, “If you are a class member, you are eligible to receive a passport with your s*x marker of choice (M, F, or X).”

For some, this focus feels misplaced. Gerard Kassar, a leader of the State Conservative Party, argued that AOC is more interested in national prominence than local representation.

She “wants to be a national figure, not a local congressperson,” he said, calling her emphasis on gender issues an “example of ultra-liberalism.”

Per the New York Post, Roosevelt Avenue’s woes have been in the spotlight for the past year, with reports detailing rampant prostitution, illegal street vending, and gang influence, worsened by the city’s migrant crisis. Locals say vendors often peddle stolen goods, sometimes lifted from nearby stores, despite NYPD and city efforts to restore order.

In June, federal authorities charged a group of undocumented migrants with running an extortion and drug ring along the corridor, targeting brothels to fund a criminal network tied to El Salvador.

AOC’s newsletter did touch on local achievements, like her work with Rep. Tom Suozzi to get Vaughn College into the FAA’s Enhanced Air Traffic Collegiate Training Initiative, which will train more air traffic controllers for New York’s vital aviation hub.

She also highlighted her office’s success in securing $35,131 in back pay for a constituent looking for Social Security Disability Insurance.

When pressed about the Roosevelt Avenue concerns, AOC’s spokesperson deflected, focusing instead on the Vaughn College win, according to the New York Post.

“I’m glad you caught the newsletter and saw the congresswoman’s announcement about helping Vaughn get admitted into an FAA program that will pump out more air traffic controllers and make flying safer for all Americans,” they said.

In July, AOC pointed to a meeting with constituents about the vendor issues at Corona Plaza as evidence of her commitment to Roosevelt Avenue’s challenges.

But for many residents, the persistent crime and disorder signal a need for more hands-on action from their congresswoman.
