Trump needs to work in lockstep with the Senate to push forward his agenda. And it looks like that’s exactly what’s happening.

As this top GOP senator announces a scheme that left Donald Trump with a huge smile across his face.

Rick Scott Champions Trump’s Vision in Congress

Republican Senator Rick Scott is throwing his weight behind President Donald Trump’s ambitious agenda, vowing to rally Congress around the commander-in-chief’s plans. In an exclusive sit-down with Fox News for a national digital interview, Scott made his stance crystal clear.

“I put a lot of effort in, and I believe in Trump’s agenda,” Scott declared with conviction.

The comments came during a two-day policy summit hosted by Rescuing the American Dream, a public that is aligned with the senator. Held just steps from the U.S. Capitol, the event drew a roster of Trump allies, including Attorney General Pam Bondi—who once served alongside Scott as Florida’s attorney general during his time as governor of the state.

Scott pointed out the deep ties he shares with Trump’s inner circle. “A lot of my friends are working” in the president’s second administration, he said, adding, “I’ve got a lot of friends there.” Among them is Susie Wiles, Trump’s 2024 co-campaign manager and now White House chief of staff, who Scott proudly noted “was my first campaign manager” during his victorious 2010 run for Florida governor.

A key player in Senate Republican circles, Scott hosts a weekly steering committee lunch, recently bringing in Wiles as a guest. Just this week, he welcomed billionaire Elon Musk, Trump’s pick to helm the newly minted Department of Government Efficiency—better known as DOGE—a polarizing initiative that’s already stirring debate.

As the Senate’s richest member and a self-made multimillionaire, Scott isn’t shy about his commitment. “I’m going to do everything I can because I believe in the agenda,” he said, emphasizing his collaboration with Senate peers and House allies to turn Trump’s vision into reality.

Scott’s stock among fellow Senate Republicans seems to be climbing, a welcome shift after a rocky stretch. Back in 2022, when he chaired the National Republican Senatorial Committee, the GOP fell short of retaking the Senate—a setback that fueled tensions with then-leader Mitch McConnell.

Scott even challenged McConnell for the top spot but came up short. Last year, he made another bid to replace McConnell as Senate GOP leader, only to lose out to John Thune of South Dakota. Still, Scott insists he’s on solid ground with Thune. “I think John Thune is doing a great job,” he said warmly.

Thune, who took the stage at the summit, echoed the sentiment. He praised Scott’s ties across the aisle, noting, “The House has a very narrow majority, and it makes it challenging to do pretty much anything, but Rick has a good relationship with a number of folks in the House.”

Thune highlighted how Scott “meets with them [House Republicans] on a regular basis. So we’ve got good lines of communication.”

Looking ahead, Scott stressed the need for relentless advocacy to advance Trump’s goals. “We’ve got to be very vocal,” he urged.

“We’ve got to do op-eds. We’ve got to be on television. We’ve got to be on radio. We’ve got to be talking about why this is good for a normal person.”

Meanwhile, Trump has hit the ground running since returning to the White House six and a half weeks ago. With a blitz of 85 executive orders—tallied by Fox News as of Thursday—he’s outpaced his recent predecessors by a mile.

From slashing federal jobs to settling old scores, Trump’s moves have delivered on campaign promises while cementing his authority. But Scott sees a bigger task ahead.

“It’s something the president has the opportunity to do, but that only lasts while he’s president,” he observed, nodding to the executive orders. “We’ve got to codify these things.”

For Scott, the mission is simple yet urgent: “This country should be run by Congress passing normal laws that help you as an American citizen, and that’s what we ought to do. I appreciate what the president’s doing, but we’ve got to codify these things.” With his influence on the rise and a network of allies in tow, Scott’s betting big on making Trump’s agenda stick—for the long haul.
