The Left has taken a real beating since the 2024 elections. It’s only getting worse for them.
As the U.S. Attorney General launched an epic smackdown on this radical Leftist governor.
Attorney General Pam Bondi issued a stern warning to Maine on Tuesday, emphasizing the state’s obligation to adhere to federal law that protects girls’ sports from the participation of biological males.
Bondi’s letters, addressed to officials in Maine, Minnesota, and California, came in response to resistance from Leftist lawmakers and state officials who have refused to enforce President Trump’s executive order banning men from playing in women’s sports and being in women’s spaces.
“This Department of Justice will defend women and does not tolerate state officials who ignore federal law,” Bondi stated. “We will leverage every legal option necessary to ensure state compliance with federal law and President Trump’s Executive Order protecting women’s sports.”
In her letter, Bondi reminded these officials that Trump’s executive order clearly states that permitting men and boys to compete in women’s and girls’ sports is “demeaning, unfair, and dangerous to women and girls.”
“The practice is also illegal under federal law: it denies women and girls the equal opportunity to participate and excel in competitive sports, in violation of Title IX of the Educational Amendments Act of 1972,” her letter reads.
The warning follows a dramatic exchange at the White House on Friday, where President Donald Trump directly confronted Maine Governor Janet Mills (D) over her refusal to comply with the federal mandate on biological males in girls’ sports. As Trump discussed the NCAA’s adherence to his executive order requiring men to be absent of women’s spaces, he paused mid-speech to address Mills.
“Is Maine here? The governor of Maine? Are you not going to comply with it?” Trump asked. “I’ll comply with state and federal law,” Mills said in response.
“We are the federal law,” Trump shot back. “You better do it. Because you’re not going to get any federal funding at all if you don’t. And by the way, your population, even though it is somewhat liberal — although I did very well there — your population doesn’t want men playing in women’s sports. You better comply because otherwise you’re not getting any federal funding.”
Mills pushed back, stating, “We’ll see you in court.” “Good, I’ll see you in court,” Trump replied. “I look forward to that, that should be a real easy one. And enjoy your life after governor, because I don’t think you’ll be in elected politics.”

The confrontation came on the heels of a controversial incident at Maine’s Class B state championship, where a boy who identifies as a girl got first place in the girls’ pole vaulting event. President Trump responded swiftly, announcing on Thursday that his administration would withhold federal funding from Maine.
“I heard men are still playing in Maine,” Trump stated. “We’re not gonna give any federal money. They are still saying, ‘We want men to play in women’s sports.’ And I cannot believe they’re doing that.”
Pam Bondi’s letter is the latest in the Trump administration’s ongoing efforts to enforce the executive order. The Education Department announced on Friday that it has opened Title IX investigations into Maine’s Department of Education, while the USDA revealed on Saturday that it has launched a “compliance review” of the University of Maine.
Despite the growing backlash from the public and legal pressure from the federal government, Democrats continue to stand apart from the majority of Americans on the issue of biological males participating in women’s sports. Polls consistently show that a significant portion of the U.S. population opposes allowing men to compete in women’s athletic events, citing concerns about fairness and safety. Yet, Democratic leaders have repeatedly dismissed these concerns, framing the debate as a matter of inclusivity and transgender rights.
This refusal to align with public opinion reflects a trend among Democrats, who often prioritize woke policies even when they conflict with the views of most Americans. Rather than acknowledging the widespread disapproval of men in women’s sports, they double down, accusing opponents of bigotry and intolerance.
As the legal battles unfold, the gap between Democratic lawmakers and the public continues to widen. While the Trump administration moves to uphold Title IX and protect women’s sports, the resistance from Democratic officials show that they are completely out of touch with the American public.
