The border being overrun by central and South Americans is nothing new when it comes to the Biden administration.
Thanks to them, around six million illegal immigrants have crossed the southern border since he took office.
But it isn’t just visitors from down south we have to worry about, it’s rival governments’ citizens too.
Since October 1, 2022, approximately 13,000 Chinese people have been caught attempting to unlawfully breach the United States’ southern border, a nearly 1,000 percent increase over the previous year’s total.
According to Breitbart, 84% of those seized are single adults who are subsequently released to seek asylum in the United States.
Concerns have grown significantly over the last year. 74 Chinese nationals were caught in March 2022, 146 in April, and over 1,000 per month by January 2023.
For the first time since the start of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Chinese government opened its borders and relaxed travel restrictions in January 2023.
Agents’ information from migrants reveals that they are fleeing a harsh Chinese regime as well as economic troubles resulting by its epidemic policies.
An unknown Customs and Border Patrol official informed the newspaper that the surge is difficult to pinpoint owing to the linguistic barrier.
“Having to use third-party translation services, Border Patrol agents and intelligence officers who are already struggling to cope with thousands of migrant apprehensions daily are getting limited intelligence information from the migrants,” the agent said of the challenges brought by the language barrier.
Dr. Kenneth Allard, a veteran Army intelligence officer and author of “Warheads: Cable News and the Fog of War,” expressed alarm about the influx of intelligence.
“Totalitarian governments like China are great exploiters of opportunity,” he said. “They recognize weakness and capitalize on it immediately. What we are seeing reflects a deliberate policy choice by the regime.”
According to Reuters, many of the migrants learn how to cross the border into the United States using the Chinese version of TikTok.
In addition to economic conditions, the US making it more difficult to secure a visa, and the Chinese government curtailing religious liberties, Christians have fled the nation and taken the alternative route to the US.
But there also is the risk that along with Chinese Christians and asylum-seekers, the Chinese Communist Party will send spies or other bad actors into the country.
It wouldn’t be surprising, especially as China has begun preparations to build a spy base in Cuba.
The report comes after Title 42 orders expired in May, abolishing COVID-era restrictions that allowed the US to withhold entrance to asylum seekers until their applications were granted. As a result, the number of people seeking to enter the country has increased.
