Biden’s reelection chances are looking grim. If the election were held today he likely would lose by a wide margin.
And this Senate Democrat breaks his silence and calls for Biden to do this one shocking thing for the 2024 presidential race.
Senator Jon Tester Urges President Biden to Bow Out of 2024 Race
In a bold move, Senator Jon Tester (D-MT), facing a tough reelection campaign in his politically mixed state, has called for President Joe Biden to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race.
In a statement to the Daily Montanan, Tester expressed his profound respect for Biden’s service while asserting that it’s time for a change.
“Montanans have put their trust in me to do what is right, and it is a responsibility I take seriously. I have worked with President Biden when it has made Montana stronger, and I’ve never been afraid to stand up to him when he is wrong,” Tester remarked.
“And while I appreciate his commitment to public service and our country, I believe President Biden should not seek re-election to another term.”
Andrew Desiderio of Punchbowl News reported that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) “was given a heads up ahead of Tester’s announcement, and he told Tester that he should do whatever he thinks is best, per a source with knowledge.”
Tester joins Senator Peter Welch (D-VT) as the only notable Democrats in the U.S. Senate urging Biden to step aside.
According to the New York Times, insiders close to Biden revealed that the president is “beginning to accept the idea that he may not be able to win in November and may have to drop out of the race, bowing to the growing demands of many anxious members of his party.”
In a related commentary, Larry Elder stated that black women Democrats — a crucial voter base — would not support the party if Kamala Harris did not receive the nomination, suggesting that the party may have no choice but to run her.
While one source close to Biden indicated that he has not yet made a final decision about leaving the race, another noted that “reality is setting in” and that Biden might soon make “an announcement endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris as his replacement.”
The Times highlighted: “This account is based on interviews with four people close to the president, all of whom described the situation as extremely delicate and spoke on the condition of anonymity to avoid offending the president.
Mr. Biden remained in isolation at his vacation home in Rehoboth Beach, Del., after being diagnosed with Covid on Wednesday.”
Amidst the conflicting reports circulating on social media about Biden’s next steps, the New York Times’ source suggested a possible immediate endorsement of Kamala Harris.
In contrast, journalist Mark Halperin reported that “multiple sources” claim the president might leave the nomination to be decided by an open convention.
Either way, there’s a tremendous amount of infighting within the Democrat Party.
This has clearly led to chaos that could hurt their chances with voters no matter who’s the nominee.
At this point, former President Trump could be in good shape no matter who is on the ticket for the Left.
