It’s no surprise to see the Left not putting Americans first. But this goes beyond anything we’ve seen before.
And now a top Democrat sold out Americans to a foreign enemy in a stunning act of treason.
California Democrats are at it again, preparing to ram through a bill in the state senate this week that would give illegal immigrants access to first-time home-buying loans, all while ordinary, law-abiding citizens are left to fend for themselves.
The bill, introduced by Assemblyman Joaquin Arambula (D-Fresno), seeks to allow undocumented immigrants to tap into the state’s Dream for All home loan program, which currently offers first-time home buyers up to 20% in down payment assistance, capped at $150,000, through a lottery system.
This program, originally designed for low- and middle-income Californians, is now being expanded by Democrats to include those who broke federal law to enter the country.
“This bill would specify that an applicant who meets all other requirements for a loan under the program… shall not be disqualified solely based on the applicant’s immigration status,” the legislation reads, effectively prioritizing those who violated immigration laws over American citizens and legal residents.
Under Arambula’s bill, an undocumented immigrant would only need a taxpayer ID number or a Social Security number to qualify.
“We simply wanted to be as inclusive as possible within our policies so that all who are paying taxes here in our state were able to qualify,” Arambula claimed, according to the California Globe, showcasing just how out of touch California Democrats are with the concerns of everyday Americans.
The implications are staggering—this legislation could drastically increase the number of applicants for these loans, which already saw 18,000 hopefuls this year, with only 1,700 actually receiving assistance through a random lottery.
Yet, instead of addressing the needs of their own struggling citizens, California Democrats are eager to give illegal immigrants a shot at these limited resources.
Republican lawmakers, both at the state and national levels, have fiercely criticized the bill, recognizing its potential to harm American citizens.
“I just can’t get behind using our limited dollars for people who are in this country undocumented,” Assemblyman Joe Patterson (R-Rocklin) said during a May committee hearing, reflecting the frustration of many Californians who see this as a betrayal.
Senator Brian Jones (R-San Diego) was even more direct:
“California’s budget deficit continues to grow, and Democratic lawmakers are so out of touch with everyday Californians that they are quite literally taking money away from law-abiding citizens, their own constituents, and handing it over as a free gift to people who broke federal law to cross the border illegally.”
This damning statement underscores the growing disconnect between California’s Democratic leadership and the people they were elected to serve.
Meanwhile, Governor Gavin Newsom, a key supporter of President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, has remained silent on whether he will sign this bill into law if it passes.
Newsom, who has been speculated as a potential running mate for Harris, risks facing national backlash not only for himself but also for the entire Democratic Party as he eyes a political future beyond California.
A spokesperson for former President Donald Trump’s campaign called the legislation “fundamentally unfair but typical Democrat policy,” in a statement to Politico, summing up what many Americans feel—Democrats are once again putting illegal immigrants before their own citizens, to the detriment of the nation.
