The GOP is ready to fight back against the Biden/Harris admin by working to reelect Trump. But not every Republican is on board.
And Donald Trump was rocked with catastrophic news after these Republicans betray him.
In a significant political development, three prominent Republicans have announced their endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris for president. Former U.S. Senator Nancy Kassebaum from Kansas, retired federal judge Deanell Reece Tacha, and former Kansas Insurance Commissioner Sandy Praeger voiced their concerns about the current direction of the Republican Party. In a statement shared with Fox News Digital, they expressed their dissatisfaction with the GOP’s current state and explained their support for Harris.
“This election presents a stark choice that is not easy for any of us,” the trio wrote. They lamented that the Republican Party, once associated with figures like Dwight D. Eisenhower and Bob Dole, no longer aligns with their vision of governance. However, they emphasized the importance of prioritizing the country over party loyalty, especially when fundamental values are at stake.
The group acknowledged the challenge of choosing between Harris and former President Donald Trump, describing it as a difficult decision. “No candidate is perfect,” they admitted, while stressing their responsibility to build a brighter future. This led to their decision to back Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz in the 2024 election, citing their alignment with Kansas’ values and its motto, “to the stars through difficulty.”
Though all three figures have supported Democrats in past elections, their credentials remain significant within the GOP.
Nancy Kassebaum Baker, who served in the U.S. Senate from 1978 to 1997, was the first woman elected to represent Kansas in the Senate and chaired the Senate Labor Committee during her tenure. Judge Deanell Reece Tacha, nominated to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit by President Ronald Reagan, served as chief judge until 2008. Sandy Praeger held office as Kansas Insurance Commissioner from 2003 to 2015.
Vice President Harris’ campaign has actively sought support from across the political spectrum, particularly focusing on Republicans who are disillusioned with Trump. Her efforts to appeal to moderates and anti-Trump Republicans have drawn endorsements from other notable figures, including former Congresswoman Liz Cheney and former Vice President Dick Cheney.
On Thursday, several of these high-profile Republicans, such as Barbara Comstock and Denver Riggleman, participated in a “Republicans for Harris” event.
Despite the backing from these influential Republicans, former President Trump continues to maintain substantial support within the GOP. A new Marist College poll shows Harris and Trump in a tight race in key battleground states.
The poll, conducted in late September, finds the two candidates tied at 49% in North Carolina, with Trump holding a slight edge in Georgia and Arizona, leading Harris 50% to 49% in both states.
In response to the Kansas Republicans’ endorsement, Harris’ campaign reaffirmed its mission of uniting voters with a message centered on “freedom, democracy, and opportunity.” Austin Weatherford, the National Republican Outreach Director for Harris, highlighted the surge in Republican support for the vice president but emphasized that the campaign is not taking any voters for granted.
Meanwhile, the Trump campaign dismissed the endorsement, stating, “Nobody knows who these people are, and nobody cares.”
RINOs Won’t Push The Needle For Harris
The Kamala Harris campaign would like you to think that because RINOs (Republican In Name Only) are supporting the vice president in the 2024 race, that means Donald Trump must be someone who’s rejected by his own party.
But of course that isn’t the case. Conservatives have already ditched their support of Liz and Dick Cheney after the two became heavily outspoken against Trump.
Liz Cheney even served on the sham January 6 committee that sought to incriminate the former president for his so-called participation in the riots on the Capitol on that day.
So basically, a few RINOs that support Kamala Harris will do nothing to discourage or persuade other Republicans from casting their ballot for Donald Trump this November.
If anything, it will encourage them to continue to fight back against the political establishment that has become some prominent in our government.
