Liz Cheney is certainly planning a presidential bid in two years. Cheney’s plans, however, encountered an unforeseen stumbling block.
Donald Trump was blindsided after Liz Cheney unleashed this 2024 bombshell.
Since losing her primary by 37 points to a Trump-backed candidate, Never-Trump RINO Liz Cheney is obsessed with the prospect of running for President.
Cheney stated at the Texas Tribune Festival that she will go to any length to prevent Trump from being re-elected.
“I’m going to make sure Donald Trump, I’m going to do everything I can to make sure he is not the nominee. And if he is the nominee, I won’t be a Republican,” Cheney stated.
“It’s not about me or making a decision about what I’m going to do,” Cheney added. “I certainly will do whatever it takes to make sure Donald Trump isn’t anywhere close to the Oval Office.”
Cheney attempted to put off her 2024 ambitions in a recent CNN interview by claiming she was entirely focused on completing her work on the January 6 Committee’s final report.
“At this point, I have not made a decision about 2024. I am really very focused on the substance of what we have to do on the Select Committee, very focused on the work that I have to do to represent the people of Wyoming, and I’ll make a decision about 2024 down the road,” Cheney explained.
But it was the January 6 Committee’s findings that demonstrated how completely isolated Cheney really was.
Democrats who have spent the last two years hailing Cheney as a protector of democracy have just leaked to the press that she compromised the Committee findings by insisting on a sole focus on Donald Trump.
“Now, less than six weeks before the conclusion of the Committee’s work, Cheney’s influence over the Committee’s final report has rankled many current and former Committee staff.
They are “enraged and disillusioned by Cheney’s push to focus the report primarily on former President Donald Trump, and have bristled at the Committee morphing into what they have come to regard as the vehicle for the outgoing Wyoming lawmaker’s political future,” according to the Washington Post.
Democrats on the Committee told the Post that Cheney targeted Trump in order to increase her prospects of running for President in 2024.
“We all came from prestigious jobs, dropping what we were doing because we were told this would be an important fact-finding investigation that would inform the public,” a former Committee staffer told the Post.
“But when [the Committee] became a Cheney 2024 campaign, many of us became discouraged.”
Cheney learnt the same lesson that John McCain and other RINOs did.
