Newsom is one of the worst governors in the United States. He also seems to make the wrong decision about everything.

And Gavin Newsom is in full panic mode after being blamed for this heinous crime.

California’s Sanctuary Policies Face Scrutiny After Deadly Crash

A devastating accident in Florida has thrust California Governor Gavin Newsom’s sanctuary policies into the spotlight. The incident, which left three Americans dead, has led to outrage from Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials who argue that California’s lenient laws allowed an illegal immigrant to obtain a commercial driver’s license, leading to the tragedy.

A Fatal Collision in Florida

In St. Lucie County, Florida, a catastrophic crash unfolded when Harjinder Singh, an illegal immigrant from India, made an illegal U-turn while driving a semi-truck. The maneuver resulted in a collision that k*lled three American passengers in another vehicle.

Disturbing video footage, shared widely online, shows the moment of impact, with Singh appearing unresponsive as the tragedy occurred. Now facing three counts of vehicular homicide, Singh is in custody, with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) issuing a detainer to make sure he remains detained pending his charges.

California’s Controversial Licensing Laws

The controversy centers on California’s decision to grant Singh a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) despite his illegal immigration status. A 2013 state law, expanded by Newsom in 2022, allows illegal immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses, including CDLs.

Since 2015, California has issued licenses to over one million illegal immigrants, per Breitbart News. This is a policy that DHS officials argue prioritizes political goals over safety. They point to Singh’s license as a factor in the Florida crash, raising questions about the implications of such policies.

DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin sharply criticized Newsom’s approach. “Three innocent people were killed in Florida because Gavin Newsom’s California Department of Motor Vehicles issued an illegal alien a Commercial Driver’s License — this state of governance is asinine,” she stated.

She added, “How many more innocent people must die before Gavin Newsom stops playing games with the safety of the American public? We pray for the victims and their families.”

“Secretary Noem and DHS are working around the clock to protect the public and get these criminal illegal aliens out of America.”

Tensions Over Responsibility

Newsom’s office has deflected blame, pointing to the Trump administration’s policies in 2018 as the reason Singh secured his license. McLaughlin quickly rebutted this claim on X, setting the record straight.

“Harjinder Singh is in the United States illegally and his work authorization was rejected under the Trump Administration on September 14, 2020,” she wrote. “It was later approved under the Biden Administration June 9, 2021. The state of California issues Commercial Driver’s Licenses. There is no national CDL.”

With Singh in custody and ICE’s detainer in place, the case has intensified scrutiny of California’s sanctuary policies. Critics argue that these laws have far-reaching consequences, as evidenced by the Florida tragedy.

As the investigation continues, the incident serves as a sobering reminder of the complex intersection of immigration policy and public safety. DHS officials are pushing for stronger measures to prevent similar incidents, while the victims’ families grieve their profound loss.
