Clinton has done it this time. The critics are out in full force against her.
And an unearthed scandal has put Hillary Clinton in a world of trouble.
President Donald Trump is once again proving he’s the ultimate builder, breaking ground on a stunning new ballroom at the White House – all on his own dime, no taxpayer money wasted. But leave it to Hillary Clinton to crawl out of the shadows and throw a tantrum, claiming Trump’s ruining “your house.” Conservatives aren’t having it, firing back with reminders of the Clintons’ own shady history of treating the People’s House like their personal piggy bank.
Hillary took to X, posting a screenshot from The Washington Post about the East Wing demolition for the ballroom project. “It’s not his house,” Hillary Clinton said in her post. “It’s your house. And he’s destroying it.”
Texas Senator Ted Cruz led the charge, slamming Hillary with a perfect zinger. “At least he didn’t steal the silverware,” Texas Sen. Ted Cruz said in a response on X.
Back in 2001, as the Clintons packed up and left, they snagged an estimated $28,000 worth of White House furnishings given from donors. They ended up coughing up $86,000 to the feds for other gifts they obtained. Conservatives on social media lit up Hillary’s feed, dredging up this old dirt to expose her double standards.
The Clintons tried to spin it at the time, issuing a statement to dodge the blame: “Gifts did not leave the White House without the approval of the White House usher’s and curator’s offices.”
“Of course, if the White House now determines that a cataloging error occurred … any item in question will be returned.”
Hillary herself chimed in back then, playing innocent. “All of these items were considered gifts to us,” she said. “That’s what the permanent record of the White House showed. . . . But if there is a different intent, we will certainly honor the intention of the donor.”
Meanwhile, per the White House, Trump’s ballroom is a game-changer: a massive 90,000-square-foot addition that’ll seat 650 guests, privately funded to boot. The White House confirmed it’s not dipping into public coffers, keeping America’s hard-earned dollars safe from this upgrade.
Trump himself hyped the project on Truth Social, sounding every bit the visionary leader. “I am pleased to announce that ground has been broken on the White House grounds to build the new, big, beautiful White House Ballroom,” the president stated. “Completely separate from the White House itself, the East Wing is being fully modernized as part of this process, and will be more beautiful than ever when it is complete!”
Photos of the crew tearing down the East Wing facade went viral. But Hillary’s post turned into a magnet for mockery, with patriots piling on about Bill Clinton’s infamous Oval Office antics and the Lincoln Bedroom pay-to-stay scheme.
Remember the 1990s? Bill Clinton’s crew got hammered for turning the historic Lincoln Bedroom into a donor hotel, allegedly swapping overnight stays for fat campaign checks. Bill denied it, of course, but the stench stuck – and now it’s being flung right back at Hillary.
Conservative writer Mark Hemingway didn’t hold back, tying it all together. “Yes, between selling nights in the Lincoln bedroom to donors and her husband’s tutelage of the interns in the Oval Office, if anyone treated the WH as sacred it was the Clintons,” he said in an X post.
Eric Trump jumped in, reminding everyone of Hillary’s other flops. “The ballroom will be spectacular… unlike your work in Haiti,” he said.
Influencer Benny Johnson kept the furniture theft front and center: “Hi Hillary, Remind us, wasn’t it you who walked off with $28,000 in White House furniture when you moved out?”
“And your husband who defiled the Oval Office during his presidency? President Trump’s funding a beautiful new ballroom out of his own pocket.”
And columnist David Harsanyi piled on: “I remember when the Clintons stole the people’s furniture and tableware.”
In the end, Trump’s turning the White House into a symbol of American excellence, while the Clintons’ legacy is just a trail of scandals and stolen silverware. Hillary’s attack backfired big time, proving once again why real Americans trust Trump to build, not pilfer.
