The U.S. Supreme Court has made several recent rulings that have angered Democrats. They think the Court should rule in their favor every time.
And that’s why a deranged Leftist is trying to shut down the Supreme Court with this radical plan.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who’s also a member of the “Squad” which features several other radical Leftists, made calls for an oversight investigation into the United States Supreme Court.
The calls were made last Friday, with Ocasio-Cortez detailing how the Supreme Court is allegedly lacking proper ethics.
“We need to go after the Supreme Court … and through the Supreme Court, we explore the entire network of issues that are most important to everyday Americans: the influence of dark money in creating a government that works against the American people, the majority of the American people,” the congresswoman said to Off Message.
Her comments come in the wake of Justices on the Supreme Court being questioned for their ethical standards due to not disclosing their acceptances of gifts from wealthy individuals.
Those gifts however, were not required to be disclosed to the public, absolving them of any ethical violations.
That doesn’t matter to Leftist politicians like Ocasio-Cortez, who feel like the nation’s highest court favors the ideology of conservatives.
This view especially took place once Roe v. Wade was overturned in June of 2022.
“The Supreme Court is a political institution, and Chief Justice [John] Roberts may not like to hear that, but he works with them, and he knows,” Ocasio-Cortez said.
“It’s a political institution that responds to pressure. And absent pressure, they are going to do more of what we saw this week, which is enabling and risking our entire democracy at the behest of Donald Trump and Leonard Leo and the entire network that installed them there.”
“And we have to fight back. We need to show people what they vote for.”
Ocasio-Cortez also brought up how Democrats need to launch an investigation against the Supreme Court sooner than later since they still have a majority in the Senate.
“I just think it is so important that I think our party understands that we gain momentum and we gain support when people either see us winning or catch us trying,” she explained.
“And if we’re not winning, we need to be caught trying.”
As it currently stands, the U.S. Supreme Court has a conservative majority of 6-3.
If that majority was flipped in the favor of liberals, then Ocasio-Cortez and her other Leftist pals would probably not be complaining or threatening to launch an investigation against the Court.
The Left’s constant whining about the Supreme Court is a classic example of how they’re all sore losers when rulings don’t go their way.
That’s why they want to change the rules and look into bogus ethics violations against the conservatives Justices who are on the bench.
