Betrayals aren’t all that uncommon in politics. But no one saw this coming.
And a top Democrat senator just turned their back on Joe Biden.
As the 2024 election year moves on, Leftists are growing increasingly worried that Joe Biden isn’t the right candidate to take on Donald Trump in what will likely be the presidential election matchup.
Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is a Leftist who thinks Biden needs to change things up or he’s toast.
“There is no question, it is very hard for young people, I think for most Americans, to be excited about what is going on right now,” Sanders said on CNN’s “State of the Union” this past Sunday.
“President [Biden] has got to change course.”
Sanders has had disagreements with Biden’s foreign policy, particularly with how he’s handling the Israel-Hamas conflict.
The senator from Vermont believes that Biden should hold Israeli leadership accountable for their war efforts in Gaza to stop Hamas.
Sanders feels as though Israel may be violating international human rights standards while launching attacks on Gaza.
According to a December poll from The New York Times and Siena College, 45% of voters under the age of 30 disapprove with how President Biden is handling the Israel-Hamas conflict.
This is something Sanders thinks will hurt Biden come November.
But it’s not just foreign policy that is losing Biden voters.
Economic distress in America as well as the influx of illegal immigrants through the southern border, has lost Biden support from independent and Democrat voters.
Even mayors of heavily Democratic cities, are frustrated with how Biden is handling the immigration crisis that has brought so many illegal migrants to their cities.
And as Biden continues to struggle in the polls, former President Donald Trump continues to rise.
Last week he won the Iowa caucuses by a record amount and looks poised to win the Republican nomination for president.
Trump also leads Biden in several key swing states like Pennsylvania and Arizona, according to various polls.
It might be time for the president to start listening to key members of his party on campaign strategies or he could very well be a one-term president.
But at this point, that might not do him any good as his failed policies have soured many prospective voters on him for good.
