AOC smacked with investigation for breaking this federal law

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez keeps making the news headlines. But it’s for all the wrong reasons.

And AOC was smacked with an investigation for breaking this federal law.

U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is about as radical as they come.

Her Leftist ideology has been nothing but harmful during her time in Congress.

But now her duration as a congresswoman could very well be cut short after a watchdog group called for an investigation against her.

The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT) has asked the Office of Congressional Ethics to put out an investigation against Ocasio-Cortez for using footage of U.S. House proceedings for campaign use.

The watchdog group’s report shows four times where the Ocasio-Cortez campaign has posted videos of her speaking on the floor of the House on social media.

Both Federal law and House rules state that members of Congress cannot use resources in the House for their personal campaign. This is partly because those resources are taxpayer-funded.

“The law is quite clear that Members cannot use official resources, and specifically House video, for political purposes,” FACT executive director Kendra Arnold stated.

“This law not only safeguards taxpayer-funded resources from abuse, but it upholds the integrity of official proceedings by minimizing the incentive for Members to use them for their own personal political gain.”

House rules state that a congress member cannot use pictures or video footage of proceedings of any type on the House floor for the purpose of promoting their campaign.

From the span of February 16 to March 22, Ocasio-Cortez reposted on X several videos of her speaking on the House floor.

“It is important that the position of an elected official not be unduly leveraged for political purposes,” Arnold continued.

“This is not a one-time occurrence for Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, she has repeatedly disregarded this law and the OCE should take swift action.”

The Washington Examiner reached out to Ocasio-Cortez’s office for a comment, but no response was given.

AOC has repeatedly bashed former President Donald Trump for his criminal charges that he’s currently facing.

Will she be just as hard on herself for breaking federal law and the rules of the U.S. House?

I think we all know the answer to that question.

It’s a typical “rules for thee but not for me” mindset that is so common among Leftists.

And it’s getting incredibly tiresome at this point.
