The Leftist media outlet is in trouble. They’re getting called out left and right for their biased reporting.
And CNN erupts in flames after this Trump official goes scorched earth on them.
Kristi Noem Defends Elon Musk’s Access to Government Data Amid Scrutiny
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem engaged in a heated exchange with CNN’s Dana Bash over public trust in the government while simultaneously defending Elon Musk’s controversial access to sensitive federal data.
During the interview on Sunday, Bash pointed out that Republicans have traditionally been skeptical about “government, particularly unelected people, having access to personal data.”
“Well, we can’t trust our government anymore,” Noem responded.
Bash then reminded her, “you are the government now.”
“Yes, that’s what I’m saying, is that the American people now are saying that we have had our personal information shared and out there in the public,” Noem said, doubling down on her stance.
The discussion comes amid mounting concerns over Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an initiative he spearheads with access to a vast repository of government data.
Over the weekend however, a New York-based judge temporarily halted DOGE’s read-only access to the Treasury Department’s financial systems.
Leftists have raised alarms about Musk’s level of access and questioned the vetting process for DOGE personnel. One controversial team member, known as “Big B*lls,” has a history in hacking.
Another recruit—a 25-year-old graduate from Rutgers University—was previously dismissed for making racist remarks on social media, including statements such as “Normalize Indian hate” and “You could not pay me to marry outside of my ethnicity.” Despite the backlash, Musk has signaled that DOGE is reinstating the individual.
DOGE has primarily focused on scrutinizing Treasury data but has also sought access to systems across multiple federal agencies to conduct an audit of operations and spending within government. Noem defended Musk’s involvement, asserting that his role is crucial in identifying waste and inefficiencies.
“Elon Musk is part of the administration that is helping us identify where we can find savings and what we can do,” she said. “He has gone through the processes to make sure that he has the authority that the president has granted him.”
The White House has stated that Musk will be responsible for overseeing his own potential conflicts of interest as he continues his deep dive into federal agencies.
When asked about whether she was entirely comfortable with Musk’s access, Noem responded, “I am today by the work that he’s doing by identifying waste, fraud, and abuse.”
She further clarified, “His information that he has is looking at programs, not focusing on personal data and information. We will be continuing to talk to him about what all he has access to. But this audit needs to happen.”
Former President Donald Trump has made it clear that he wants Musk to extend his scrutiny to the Department of Education and the Pentagon, hoping to uncover inefficiencies and mismanagement within these institutions.
As the debate over DOGE’s access rages on, Musk will continue to seek out and get rid of any wasteful programs that exist within the federal government.
