Joe Biden can’t escape the wrongs he’s done. He’ll always have a microscope on him for his failed presidency.
And this Congressional investigation involving Biden has Capitol hill in an all out frenzy.
House Republicans Set to Investigate Biden’s Cognitive Decline Cover-Up
In a fiery revelation, Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas) has promised that former White House physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor will face tough questions from House Republicans. The accusation? Concealing President Joe Biden’s mental decline from the American people. Jackson, a seasoned doctor who worked in the White House Medical Unit under three presidents before taking a seat in Congress, didn’t mince words when he spoke to the New York Post.
“Dr. Kevin O’Connor will absolutely, positively be implicated in the cover-up of this. He is a massive, massive part,” said Jackson, now the chair of the House Intelligence Committee’s Oversight and Investigations subcommittee. His claim hinges on a belief that O’Connor holds critical medical details the public has yet to see.
“I guarantee you Kevin O’Connor has medical information that the American people don’t have,” Jackson asserted. “He was probably putting President Biden on lots of medications that we have no clue of — in efforts to try to treat his cognitive decline.”
Jackson, who has known O’Connor for years, painted him as a loyal insider to the Biden clan. “I’ve known him for a long time; he’s part of the Biden family. He would do or say anything to cover up and protect that family, regardless of what it meant professionally for him,” he said. Jackson went further, suggesting that O’Connor, alongside First Lady Jill Biden, played a pivotal role in keeping Biden’s condition under wraps. “This could not have been covered up without him — and Jill Biden — in particular.”
The Texas lawmaker hinted at a deeper investigation, teasing that a House panel might explore whether Biden’s presidency was effectively run by unseen hands for much of his term. We “will look into whether or not we actually had a shadow presidency for a large part of [Biden’s] term,” he said, though no specific committee has confirmed plans for such a probe just yet.
O’Connor, a figure who has largely stayed out of the spotlight, once told the New York Post that Biden’s mental fitness was “excellent”—a statement made just four days after Biden bowed out of the 2024 race. Last year, the GOP-led House Oversight Committee invited O’Connor for voluntary questioning, but it remains uncertain whether he ever responded.
Jackson added that Republicans also aim to summon other medical professionals who might have examined Biden, then 82 and seeking re-election, for conditions like Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s.
Visitor logs have already stirred curiosity, showing that Dr. Kevin Cannard, a Parkinson’s expert from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, visited the White House eight times between July 2023 and March 2024. O’Connor downplayed the visits, noting only three were for Biden’s annual physicals. When pressed by the New York Post last July about any cause for concern, he replied simply, “No, he’s good.”
The White House has consistently pushed back on doubts about Biden’s mental sharpness. Earlier in 2024, they cited O’Connor’s view that the president “doesn’t need a cognitive test,” even as Biden stumbled over names of foreign leaders in public and avoided prosecution from Special Counsel Robert Hur partly due to being seen as a “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”
After Biden’s shaky July 2024 debate performance, neurologist Dr. Tom Pitts told NBC News, “I could’ve diagnosed him from across the Mall,” pointing to telltale signs of Parkinson’s like “rigidity,” “shuffling gait,” and “slow movement.”
O’Connor, nicknamed “Doc” by Biden, never once stepped into the White House press room to field questions about the president’s health during his four-year tenure. He has since been replaced by Navy Capt. Sean Barbabella, who previously served as Donald Trump’s physician after Jackson.
For Jackson, the mission is clear: hold accountable those who “purposely lied to the American people and covered this up.” He recalled raising alarms about Biden’s fitness as far back as 2020. “I was saying that this man was not fit to be president when he was candidate Joe Biden in 2020 — and I said that over and over and over and God knows how many times I was on TV,” he said. “Not only do they know now — but they knew, you know, two or three years ago.”
Since Biden’s exit, whispers of Democratic concerns have grown louder, including contingency plans for if he were to “die in office” and admissions of how “out of it” he seemed before his disastrous June 27 debate with Trump.
Post-debate, Jill Biden’s now-infamous praise—“Joe, you did such a great job. You answered every question! You knew all the facts!”—only fueled the controversy.
Adding to the intrigue, the Heritage Foundation examined Biden’s last-minute pardons, including for Dr. Anthony Fauci and January 6th Committee members, and found evidence of autopen use. White House sources later told the New York Post that a key aide might have acted alone in deploying the device, though others disputed this. Pardons for Biden family members, including first brother James—linked to a failed hospital chain accused of fraud—may have also protected O’Connor, who was tangled in related business talks.
Jackson raised a provocative question: “Any of the things that he signed or put into law, are they legitimate?” He mused, “Was he even aware of what was going on, much less actually, you know, in favor of the stuff he signed?” As Republicans gear up for a potential reckoning, the saga of Biden’s health—and who knew what—promises to keep Washington buzzing.
