Democrat candidate ruined their campaign by making this costly mistake

The Left are experts at tripping over themselves. It’s resulted in many lost elections.

And a Democrat candidate ruined their campaign by making this costly mistake.

In the heated battle for California’s 40th Congressional District, Democratic challenger Esther Kim Varet just stepped into a massive controversy that’s got everyone talking.

Her campaign website proudly touted an endorsement from U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett, but instead of using the Texas Democrat’s actual photo, they slapped up an image of a completely different black woman. Talk about a facepalm moment that screams incompetence and worse.

The mix-up didn’t last long once the spotlight hit. The website for Esther Kim Varet yanked the wrong image Thursday afternoon right after Fox News Digital started asking questions about the glaring error. It’s the kind of slip-up that makes you wonder if these elite liberals even bother to check their own work.

Republican voices wasted no time slamming the blunder. Christian Martinez, the national Hispanic press secretary for the National Republican Congressional Committee, fired off a scorching post on X: “Racist. Arrogant. Totally out of touch. Good thing @estherkimvaret’s hate-filled, bigoted self isn’t getting anywhere near Congress.”

Varet isn’t your average candidate; she’s the owner of Various Small Fires, an art gallery chain spanning Los Angeles, Dallas, and even Seoul. She’s positioning herself as the fresh face to knock out incumbent Rep. Young Kim, the Republican holding down California’s 40th District, which covers parts of Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties. But this photo fiasco might just paint her as out of her depth.

Adding fuel to the fire, Varet, whose parents immigrated from Korea, once took a cheap shot at Kim’s background. In a social media rant against the Trump administration’s tough immigration stance, Varet labeled Kim, who was born in South Korea, an “ESL puppet.”

Rep. Young Kim hasn’t backed down from her background. When speaking to Fox News Digital, she said: “My story is not unique. It’s the story of so many Korean Americans and immigrants across the country who are proud Americans and are making our communities better every day. I’m proud of my accent and will keep using my voice to protect the American dream for future generations.”

This isn’t Varet’s first rodeo with controversy. Back in August, the NRCC branded her “unhinged” after she went after Kim’s English-speaking abilities.

The attacks got personal too. According to the NRCC, Varet even targeted Martinez himself, demanding he proves that he’s a “REAL Latino.”

Meanwhile, Rep. Young Kim faces her own challenges within the GOP. She’s up against a primary rival in Rep. Ken Calvert, and the two are duking it out for the newly drawn district.

The district itself got a makeover recently. Voters in California approved a redistricting measure in November, tweaking the lines to carve out more seats leaning Democratic.

It’s all part of the political chess game where boundaries get shuffled to tilt the scales.

But don’t think this is happening in a vacuum. The California changes came hot on the heels of Texas rolling out a new map that beefs up Republican-leaning districts.

It’s a tit-for-tat battle in the redistricting wars, with both sides jockeying for advantage.

For right-thinking Americans, this whole saga with Varet exposes the rotten core of liberal politics.

They talk a big game about inclusion and anti-racism, but when push comes to shove, they can’t even get a simple endorsement photo right without offending people.

Voters in the 40th District deserve better than this kind of sloppy, hypocritical campaigning. Young Kim represents stability, pride in heritage, and a no-nonsense approach to protecting the American way of life against the radical left’s agenda.

In the end, blunders like this might just seal Varet’s fate, keeping her far from the halls of Congress where real work gets done.
