Leftists continue to humiliate themselves with every chance they get. It’s in their DNA.
And this Democrat congressman went on a racist rant that has all hell breaking loose.
Former Congressman Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) stirred intense debate on Tuesday with a letter addressed explicitly to “White People.” In the letter, shared on X (formerly Twitter), Bowman asserted that “white supremacy” was the driving force behind the acquittal of Daniel Penny in the subway chokehold death of Jordan Neely.
The provocative post is the latest in a series of statements from Bowman as he prepares to exit Congress.
“Dear White People,” Bowman began his message. “I don’t know why I feel the need to keep talking to you. I don’t know why part of me still has hope for you and for us. Some of you are too far gone. But maybe enough of you aren’t and will join us in fighting to end white supremacy.”
In his letter, Bowman referenced several high-profile cases involving police violence against Black individuals, including the 2012 k*lling of Trayvon Martin and the death of Tyre Nichols, a Black man beaten by Black Memphis police officers. “White supremacy is not skin color. It’s a state of mind,” he contended.
Bowman also turned his focus to the recent acquittal of Penny, a 26-year-old Marine veteran, who was charged with criminally negligent homicide after placing Neely in a fatal chokehold.
Bowman stated, “Jordan Neely is the latest. He was sick. He was not a threat. He was subdued. Still not a threat. Daniel Penny choked him for 6 minutes. And k*lled him. We all watched it on camera, and he was still acquitted.”
The letter prompted mixed reactions online. A community note appended to Bowman’s post offered context, noting that Neely had previously been involved in violent incidents and left a treatment facility meant to provide him with stable housing and healthcare. It also stated that Penny acted after Neely allegedly threatened passengers.
Bowman criticized what he sees as racial disparities in the justice system, writing, “You’ve never seen a white man k*lled in cold blood on camera on your newsfeed. How many times have you even heard about this? The answer is never.”
He further argued, “Whenever you feel discomfort from your whiteness, Black people are harmed or k*lled. And there is never accountability or justice. This is the evil of white supremacy.”
The former lawmaker concluded his letter by lamenting what he described as systemic failures: “RIP Jordan Neely. The justice system failed you. Kyle Ritenhouse [sic] and Daniel Penny are free. You’re gone. We must still fight.”
Penny was acquitted earlier this week after defense attorneys argued that Neely’s death might not have been directly caused by the chokehold, citing factors such as his schizophrenia, drug use, and a genetic health condition.
Bowman, who represented New York’s 16th District, lost his re-election bid in a Democratic primary earlier this year to Westchester County Executive George Latimer.
The primary defeat followed a series of controversies, including Bowman’s vocal criticism of Israel’s war against Hamas and his plea agreement over a misdemeanor charge for pulling a fire alarm in a Capitol office building in September 2023.
Bowman claimed the incident was accidental, stating he believed the alarm would open a door.
Latimer, who easily won the general election, will take Bowman’s place in the House next month.
