The Democrat Party is in desperate need of soul searching. Their priorities are in the wrong place.

And these Democrats were caught red-handed celebrating this heinous crime.

Backlash Grows Over Democrats’ Response to UnitedHealthcare CEO’s M*rder

The m*rder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson has ignited controversy, particularly around responses from some Democratic leaders and left-leaning commentators. As the head of the nation’s largest insurance firm, Thompson’s death, allegedly at the hands of a suspect who harbored animosity toward the healthcare industry, has fueled debates about corporate greed, violence, and political rhetoric.

Some progressive voices have made remarks that critics claim either excuse or celebrate the k*lling. Social media erupted when certain individuals expressed that Thompson’s death brought them “joy” due to his role in an industry they view as exploiting vulnerable Americans.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) condemned the violence but suggested that the healthcare system’s inequities have driven people to desperation. “You can only push people so far, and then they start to take matters into their own hands,” Warren said in a statement. Speaking on MSNBC, she emphasized that the anger directed at the insurance industry is “with good reason.”

In an interview with the Huffington Post, Warren elaborated, saying, “The visceral response from people across this country who feel cheated, ripped off, and threatened by the vile practices of their insurance companies should be a warning to everyone in the healthcare system.”

Warren’s comments sparked backlash online, with critics accusing her of rationalizing violence. One user on X wrote that the “senator believes that the disgusting act of a crazy communist reflects the hatred of the entire nation for insurance companies.”

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) also addressed the issue, condemning the healthcare industry while speaking about the public outrage surrounding Thompson’s death. “I think what the outpouring of anger at the healthcare industry tells us is that millions of people understand that healthcare is a human right and that you cannot have people in the insurance industry rejecting needed healthcare for people while they make billions of dollars in profit,” Sanders said to the Huffington Post.

Both senators have faced criticism for what many see as comments that excuse or diminish the severity of Thompson’s m*rder. One user on X wrote, “We already knew this, but Warren and Sanders have no business being in elected office. They have essentially excused the m*rder of a healthcare executive, laying the groundwork for additional violence. Disqualifying.”

Adding fuel to the fire, journalist Taylor Lorenz faced severe criticism after initially expressing that Thompson’s death sparked “joy” for her. Speaking on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Lorenz justified her reaction by referencing those who “died because greedy health insurance executives like this one push a policy of denying care to the most vulnerable people.”

When Morgan challenged her, asking how she could feel joy over the death of a husband and father, Lorenz responded that Thompson’s death “feels like justice in this system when somebody responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of Americans suffers the same fate as tens of thousands of Americans.”

A report from the Network Contagion Research Institute highlighted the troubling reaction on social media. According to the report, six of the top ten most-engaged posts on X about Thompson’s m*rder either supported the k*lling or criticized the victim. One post read, “If we had universal healthcare like Bernie Sanders proposed, no one would be shooting insurance CEOs.” Another declared, “This needs to be the new norm. EAT THE RICH.”

Alex Goldenberg, a senior adviser at the institute, expressed concern over how the m*rder is being framed. Speaking to The New York Times, Goldenberg warned that this narrative could encourage similar acts of violence, saying, that the m*rder is “being framed as some opening blow in a broader class war, which is very concerning as it heightens the threat environment for similar actors to engage in similar acts of violence.”

On the other side of the aisle, conservatives have also weighed in. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) suggested that Thompson’s m*rder might become the catalyst for a left-wing political movement. “I believe it’s the beginning of a political movement,” Greene told Real America’s Voice. “What I’m more concerned about is we’ve seen the Left push for socialized medicine for years… I hope this doesn’t turn into where they take this guy they’re praising … and make him some sort of hero.”

Conservative commentators like Ben Shapiro and Matt Walsh have similarly criticized what they describe as radical left-wing rhetoric, warning that it could signal the return of politically motivated violence.

Meanwhile, new details about the case reveal the suspected k*ller, Luigi Mangione, had a personal vendetta against the healthcare industry. Investigators found bullet casings at the crime scene inscribed with the words “depose,” “deny,” and “delay”—a reference to the infamous “three Ds of insurance” often used to describe the tactics companies employ to avoid paying claims.

Mangione, who suffered from chronic back pain and underwent spinal surgery last year, was arrested on Monday. At the time of his arrest, he was carrying a handwritten manifesto criticizing corporate greed and claiming, “Frankly, these parasites had it coming.”
