Trump has built up a large list of enemies over the years. But some are starting to change their tune about the former president.

And Donald Trump is in shock after a major opponent announces their support of him.

Former President Donald Trump is sitting comfortably in the lead in the Republican Primary national polls.

Voting in the first primary contests is just weeks away, so if any other Republican candidate wants to take their shot at Trump, now is the time.

But one candidate took a bit of a different approach at a recent campaign event.

Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley (R) was asked by a 9-year-old boy if she would be willing to pardon Trump should he be convicted of any crimes.

“I would pardon Trump if he is found guilty,” Haley answered.

“A leader needs to think about what’s in the best interest of the country.”

“What’s in the best interest of the country is not to have an 80-year-old man sitting in jail that continues to divide our country,” she added.

To date, Trump has been indicted four times and has several other civil battles he’s dealing with legally.

Haley went on to say that Trump was “the right president at the right time,” and that she “agreed with a lot of his policies.”

But she added that she doesn’t think “he’s the right president to go forward.”

“We can’t handle the chaos anymore,” Haley said.

This isn’t the first time Nikki Haley has come out to say she would pardon the former president.

While appearing on The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton show in June, she discussed Trump’s indictment involving the alleged mishandling of classified documents.

“When you look at a pardon, the issue is less about guilt and more about what’s good for the country. And I think it would be terrible for the country to have a former president in prison for years because of a documents case,” Haley said.

“So I would be inclined in favor of a pardon.”

Will Haley’s comments help to win her over favor among the Trump base?

Likely not, as Trump’s base is incredibly loyal to him. But she may be able win over some votes from those who are more on the fence.
