Former President Trump has survived two assassination attempts. But many worry he’s not out of the clear from more attacks.

And Donald Trump Jr. has delivered a terrifying warning about his father’s safety.

On Monday, Donald Trump Jr. voiced strong concerns after the Department of Justice (DOJ) made public a letter from Ryan Wesley Routh, a man accused of attempting to assassinate former President Donald Trump. The letter allegedly offers a $150,000 reward for anyone who successfully completes the task of k*lling Trump.

“This was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump but I failed you,” Routh allegedly wrote in the letter, which was released by the DOJ during a pretrial detention hearing for Routh.

“I tried my best and gave it all the gumption I could muster. It is up to you now to finish the job; and I will offer $150,000 to whoever can complete the job.”

While the Justice Department argues that releasing the letter will help both the defense and the court, Trump’s eldest son sees the move as a reckless one. Speaking to The Daily Wire, Donald Trump Jr. expressed his outrage at what he believes is an unnecessary risk to his father’s safety.

“For the life of me, I do not understand why the Kamala-Biden DOJ is publicly releasing a letter from Ryan Wesley Routh announcing a $150,000 bounty on my dad’s head,” Trump Jr. said. “They’re putting his life even more at risk with this reckless decision.”

The origins of Routh’s animosity toward the former president appear to stem from Trump’s foreign policy, with the Democrat donor accusing Trump of behaving “like a child” in handling relations with Iran.

In the letter, Routh claimed, “Everyone across the globe from the youngest to the oldest know that Trump is unfit to be anything, much less a U.S. president. U.S. presidents must at bare minimum embody the moral fabric that is America and be kind, caring and selfless and always stand for humanity.”

The revelations come not long after another assassination attempt. In July, 20-year-old Thomas Crooks shot Trump in the ear at a Pennsylvania rally, narrowly missing the former president’s head. Tragically, the attack resulted in the death of Corey Comparatore, a 50-year-old father of two, and left two others critically injured.

Details from the DOJ filing highlight the extent of Routh’s preparations. Agents searching his vehicle uncovered an alarming cache of items, including multiple license plates, cellphones, 12 pairs of gloves, and a passport.

They also found a Hawaii Driver’s License, a handwritten list of Trump’s appearances throughout August, September, and October 2024, and a notebook filled with names and phone numbers reportedly related to Ukraine or how to join combat efforts in the country.

The filing also recounts a September 18, 2024, report from a civilian who had found a suspicious box left at his residence by Routh several months prior.

After hearing about the recent attempt on Trump’s life, the witness opened the box and discovered ammunition, a metal pipe, various building materials, and four phones.

Among the items was another handwritten letter from Routh, this one addressed to “The World,” repeating his confession of a failed assassination attempt and calling for others to take up the task.

Further complicating Routh’s legal troubles is his criminal history. Court documents reveal he was previously convicted in 2002 of possessing a weapon of mass destruction—a binary explosive device—and again in 2010 for multiple counts of possession of stolen goods.

As the case unfolds, Donald Trump Jr.’s fear for his father’s safety grows.

With the DOJ’s decision to release such sensitive information, Trump Jr. believes threats against his father will only continue to grow.
