The United States has always had a massive target on its back. But lately that target seems to only be growing.
And a GOP senator issues a dire warning that can’t be ignored.
Last week, tens of thousands of U.S. citizens were unable to use their phone and internet services from AT&T after an outage occurred.
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) used the unfortunate event which happened on Thursday morning, to warn Americans that a cyberattack from China would be much worse in comparison.
“I don’t know the cause of the AT&T outage,” Rubio said in a post to X.
“But I do know it will be 100 times worse when #China launches a cyber attack on America on the eve of a #Taiwan invasion.”
“And it won’t be just cell service they hit, it will be your power, your water and your bank.”

The AT&T outages started to take place right before 3:30am ET, with 54% of users saying that they were having issues with their cellphone service.
Over a third of users weren’t able to pick up a signal while 8% said they didn’t have any internet on their mobile device.
“Some of our customers are experiencing wireless service interruptions this morning,” AT&T said in a statement to FOX Business.
“We are working urgently to restore service to them. We encourage the use of Wi-Fi calling until service is restored.”
Rubio’s warning should be a familiar one, based off a similar warning that FBI director Christopher Wray gave earlier in the month.
“You might find your companies harassed and hacked, targeted by a web of corporate CCP proxies,” Wray said.
“You might also find PRC [People’s Republic of China] hackers lurking in your power stations, your phone companies and other infrastructure, poised to take them down when they decide you stepped too far out of line, and that hurting your civilian population suits the CCP.”
“China-sponsored hackeres pre-positioned for potential cyberattacks against U.S. oil and natural gas companies way back in 2011, but these days, it’s reached something closer to a fever pitch,” Wray added.
“What we’re seeing now is China’s increasing build-out of offensive weapons within our critical infrastructure, poised to attack whenever Beijing decides the time is right.”
The United States and it’s leaders should greatly heed these warnings from Rubio and Wray.
But will members of the Biden administration actually take them seriously?
That’s the real question here.
