Fortunately for them, their political allies who work for the federal government will comply with any requests they make. However, occasionally the Left becomes a little too complacent and overreacts.
When Joe Biden chose to eliminate student loan debt, that is what just occurred.
Joe Biden made a bold decision to forgive up to $10,000 in student loan debt for millions of borrowers, placing the onus of covering the cost on taxpayers.
The Congressional Budget Office predicts a cost of over $400 billion, whereas the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania expects this will cost little under $300 billion this year.
Joe Biden has chosen to support gender studies majors above the nation’s hard-working taxpayers in light of the record inflation that is eroding the typical American’s paychecks.
In addition, universities are more inclined to increase tuition prices, and students are more willing to increase hazardous borrowing given the increased expectations that the American people will foot the bill.
The Biden administration’s illegal strategy was challenged in court on Tuesday by the Pacific Legal Foundation because of this.
The group argued that Joe Biden’s use of the HEROES Act, a law passed in 2003 to aid Iraq War veterans and their families, happened with “breathtaking informality and opacity.”
The group continued by charging the Biden administration with legislating by decree and avoiding the “notice-and-comment process required for rulemaking” as mandated by the Department of Education.
“Congress did not authorize the executive branch to unilaterally cancel student debt,” Pacific Legal Foundation attorney Caleb Kruckenberg declared. “It’s flagrantly illegal for the executive branch to create a $500 billion program by press release, and without statutory authority or even the basic notice and comment procedure for new regulations.”
They emphasized the unfairness of rewarding individuals who earned worthless degrees while punishing those who had already repaid their loans through wise financial management.
“Cancelling student debt is unjust to those who have paid their loans or never took any. It will only lead to more calls for government intervention in education at taxpayers’ expense,” Pacific Legal Foundation senior attorney Steve Simpson added.
Of course, Joe Biden’s plan to defend his precariously small congressional majorities in November is at the heart of all of this. He’s attempting to manipulate people.
Because of this, he is releasing millions of barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, declaring the pandemic to be over, and relieving people of their billion-dollar student debt obligations to the government.
But despite all of these unethical tactics, it appears that Democrats will lose the midterm elections in a massacre.
