Biden’s popularity is dwindling. In fact, it’s on life support.
And Joe Biden just gained a new enemy that could end his career.
President Biden’s foreign policy has been unpopular among both Democrats and Republicans.
And now the Muslim Democratic Council is coming out against Biden’s latest policy decisions regarding the Israel-Hamas conflict.
In an open letter sent to the president, the council threatened to withhold support for Biden and other Democrats unless they call for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
“The National Muslim Democratic Council (NMDC), Democratic Party activists, and voters from across the nation and pivotal battleground states write to express our deep concern regarding the ongoing massacre in Gaza,” the letter states.
“The massacre of over eight thousand Palestinians and the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza are unacceptable. We call on the White House to urgently advocate for an immediate ceasefire.”
“Your administration’s unconditional support, encompassing funding and armaments, has played a significant role in perpetuating the violence that is causing civilian casualties and has eroded trust in voters who previously put their faith in you,” the letter continues.
Biden is in a tough spot right now regarding these demands.
Losing Muslim support could be catastrophic for him heading into the 2024 election.
And that’s especially the case in the swing state of Michigan where there is a large Muslim population.
“The situation in Gaza has reached a critical juncture, nearing a complete humanitarian catastrophe, and we implore you to take immediate action to secure a ceasefire by Tuesday, October 31st at 5p.m. EST,” the letter demanded.
At the time of this article being written, the deadline the NMDC set, has passed.
If President Biden did call for a cease-fire before the deadline, he would have gained the support of the NMDC but would have instead lost support among Jewish voters because Israel is trying to defend themselves from Hamas.
Biden is now in an impossible situation where he can’t please both Muslim and Jewish voters at the same time with his foreign policy.
And that could very well hurt him big time come the 2024 presidential election.
“We pledge to mobilize Muslim, Arab, and allied voters to withhold endorsement, support, or votes for any candidate who did not advocate for a ceasefire and endorse the Israeli offensive against the Palestinian people,” the letter added.
“We will mobilize increased voter turnout to make our voices heard. The State of Michigan, in the 2020 election, was decided by a mere 2.6 percent margin of victory and holds 16 crucial electoral votes.”
“We emphasize the significance of Michigan, Ohio, Iowas, Florida, Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee, where many of our voters reside.”
Failing to perform well among voters in the swing states that were listed above, could ultimately send Biden packing his bags after the results of the 2024 election come in next November.
