October surprises happen all the time. But this one will hurt.
Because Kamala Harris’ and Joe Biden’s ties to terrorists just got exposed right before the election.
Department Of Interior’s Controversial Association with Radical Activist Group
The Department of the Interior (DOI) has come under fire for directing the public to the website of the NDN Collective, a radical activist group that has expressed support for terrorist sympathizers and condoned violence against the United States and Israel. This organization is based in South Dakota and is known for its advocacy in favor of Hamas and Hezbollah.
Janene Yazzie, the NDN Collective’s director of policy and advocacy, recently took to Instagram to assert, “The global majority will rise up. Empire will pay for its crimes,” following a video of an Israeli airstrike in Gaza. The DOI has included the NDN Collective on its environmental justice resources webpage, describing it as an “engagement resource.”
“These links provide crucial information that can help improve understanding of environmental justice issues, build capacity to effectively participate in local decision-making opportunities, and transform communities,” the DOI has written in an endorsement of NDN.
In response to these developments, senior Republican lawmakers have voiced their outrage over DOI Secretary Deb Haaland’s decision to promote a group that engages in anti-Israel advocacy. “The Biden-Harris administration has not done enough to support our allies and fight terrorism,” stated Republican Sen. John Barrasso of Wyoming, the ranking member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. He criticized Haaland for allowing her department to platform organizations sympathetic to terrorism rather than protecting federal assets.
Similarly, Republican Rep. Bruce Westerman of Arkansas condemned the DOI’s actions, pointing to the disturbing incidents of vandalism and violence during recent protests on DOI land. “These despicable groups should be called out for the terrorists they support, not given a platform by extremists in the federal government,” he remarked.
Barrasso has also expressed concerns about the DOI’s failure to respond effectively to violent protests that took place near the White House in June. In a letter to Haaland, he questioned whether political sympathies influenced the department’s response to vandalism and violence. He warned that inaction could embolden such behavior and undermine public trust in the DOI.
The scrutiny intensified when it was reported that Haaland’s daughter works for the Pueblo Action Alliance, another activist group that has praised Hamas’s recent attacks. The DOI’s relationship with the NDN Collective goes beyond mere acknowledgment; Haaland has appeared at events hosted by the group, and members have met with DOI officials on multiple occasions since her appointment.
In March 2022, the NDN Collective issued a manifesto denying the right of Israel and the United States to exist, calling for resistance against “colonialism and Zionism.” Their rhetoric continued to escalate, and in October 2023, they claimed “settler colonialism is at the root of the violence in Gaza” following Hamas’s attacks on Israel.
Moreover, the NDN Collective has actively participated in pro-Hamas protests and marches, further cementing its reputation for anti-Israel activism. The group has deployed “tactical media units” to various student protests, including those at prestigious universities, and has aligned itself with controversial figures in Congress.
As scrutiny mounts, the DOI and the NDN Collective have not responded to inquiries regarding their collaboration. Additionally, concerns have emerged about taxpayer dollars being funneled to extremist groups like the NDN Collective under the Environmental Protection Agency’s recent initiatives. Republican Sen. Shelley Moore Capito highlighted this issue, warning that taxpayer money is being used to support organizations that promote anti-American sentiments.
The ongoing relationship between the DOI and the NDN Collective raises significant questions about the federal government’s stance on advocacy and activism that directly challenges national interests and security.
This is just the latest in national security concerns on the watch of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. During their administration, they’ve also struggled to handle well in the eyes of the public the China spy balloon debacle as well as the attempts on Donald Trump’s life.
Whether the threats come from within the U.S. or from outside, the public sentiment is generally that Biden and Harris have been weak on national security. Part of that could be due to their cozying up as close as possible to terrorist-sympathizer groups.
