Harris is not the sharpest tool in the shed. Now it’s obvious.
And Kamala Harris is utterly humiliated for one brain-dead statement.
Vice President Kamala Harris faced heavy criticism after spending less than two minutes taking questions from reporters on Thursday, following an 18-day stretch of media silence.
While campaigning in Michigan, Harris offered brief responses to a handful of questions on the airport tarmac, a stark contrast to former President Trump, who had engaged in a lengthy news conference earlier the same day.
When asked by a reporter to address the growing criticism about her lack of media engagement since becoming the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Harris offered a vague promise:
“I’ve talked to my team. I want us to get an interview scheduled before the end of the month.”
This lackluster response left conservative voices on X (formerly Twitter) unimpressed, viewing Harris’ vague commitment to schedule an interview as little more than “crumbs” tossed to a compliant media.
Radio host Ari Hoffman contrasted Harris’ brief exchange with Trump’s extensive media engagement, saying:
“Trump spent a seemingly endless amount of time taking unvetted questions from the press and days doing radio interviews and phone calls with reporters…and this is the best Kamala could do? Will the media accept these crumbs?”
Daily Caller White House correspondent Reagan Reese highlighted the disparity between Harris and Biden, noting, “When Biden’s political career was on the line, his team scheduled two sit-down interviews and a press conference in the span of a few weeks.
He’s now sitting for another interview before Harris has even done one.”
RedState writer Bonchie took aim at the softball questions Harris received, commenting, “Kamala Harris finally takes a few questions in passing, speaking for less than a minute, and you’ll be shocked to learn they were all softballs, with two of them being ‘tell me how bad Trump is.’ The press isn’t coming back from this. There’s no credibility left.”
National Review’s senior political correspondent Jim Geraghty also mocked Harris’ lack of media engagement, stating, “Ah, so the Democratic nominee, who has not done an on-camera sit-down interview since Biden withdrew July 21, says she will try to do one in the next 23 days.”
Attorney Kostas Moros added his own sarcasm, “ONE interview in a month? I know writing and memorizing a script takes time, but come on.”
National Review editor Philip Klein simply laughed at Harris’ commitment: “Before the end of the month. LOL.”
Despite not yet scheduling a formal interview, Harris has agreed to a presidential debate with Trump on ABC on September 10.
However, while Trump has proposed additional debates on Fox News and NBC next month, Harris has remained noncommittal.
“I am happy to have that conversation about an additional debate for after September 10, for sure,” she said, offering no firm commitments.
