Republican Governor Kristi Noem isn’t playing defense. She’s exposing the radical Democrats for who they are.
And Kristi Noem just utterly destroyed the Democrat Party with one stroke of her pen.
Democrats have made it quite clear in the past few years that there is no disagreement with them on an issue related to LGBT activists.
The main issue is actually transgenderism.
Conservatives say that we need to protect our youth from the world by not introducing them to ideas like transgenderism from a young age.
The radical Left, on the other hand, legitimately thinks it’s OK for kids to go to drag shows and be indoctrinated into the transgender ideology from elementary school.
Sadly, a major issue that’s come up is whether or not those who are under the age of 18 and classified as minors at the federal level should be allowed to “transition” to a gender other than what they were assigned at birth.
Statistics have proven that over the past two years, minors who identify as “transgender” have skyrocketed in prominence.
In 2017, 1,905 minors between the ages of 6-17 years old were given “hormone” treatment for their gender dysphoria according to Reuters statistics.
In 2021 that number more than doubled up to 4,231.
In 2017, the number of minors between 6-17 on puberty blockers was 633.
In 2021, that number more than doubled also at 1,390.
For most Americans, this is an epidemic as they see these children being used as pawns for a transgender agenda and ideology.
Well, Governor Kristi Noem has had enough. She’s putting an end to this nonsense in her state for good so no kids can be a product of the radical Left’s games again.
Noem signed a bill called the “Help Not Harm” bill (HB 1080) that will no longer allow minors to get puberty blockers, hormone therapies, or transition surgeries in order to change their gender.
Furthermore, there will be legal consequences for any medical professionals who violate the law and seek to give minors these banned therapies.
The Noem office put out a statement saying that this is about “protecting kids.”
“South Dakota’s kids are our future. With this legislation, we are protecting kids from harmful, permanent medical procedures,” said Governor Kristi Noem. “I will always stand up for the next generation of South Dakotans.”
This is one of the strongest bills defending minors in this way in the whole nation. Some states like Alabama, Arkansas, and Utah have also passed similar legislation.
Florida and Texas under the leadership of Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbott have said they will sign similar legislation should their state legislatures pass the bill to their desks for signatures.
