Leftists are throwing tantrums everywhere. They don’t realize how humiliating they look.
And this leading Democrat has a nuclear meltdown on camera over the Trump administration.
Congressman Larson Unleashes Fury Over Elon Musk and DOGE in Explosive Committee Outburst
In a fiery scene at a recent House Ways and Means Committee meeting, Rep. John Larson (D-Conn.) lost his cool, lambasting Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) while accusing Republican colleagues of blindly following the billionaire and President Donald Trump. The markup session, focused on bills aimed at shedding light on DOGE’s access to Treasury Department payment systems and the Social Security Administration, turned into a shouting match as Larson’s frustration boiled over.
“You will do whatever Elon Musk and Donald Trump tell you to do,” Larson bellowed at GOP members, his face flushed with anger. “Where’s the independence of the committee? Where’s the legislature? We’re an equal branch of government.” Pointing to the empty seats around the room, he demanded, “Where’s Elon Musk?”
Larson didn’t hold back, questioning Musk’s absence and influence. “I’m sure he’s a genius and a very credible person because of the wealth he’s accumulated, but that does not put him above the law or the responsibility to come before this committee and this Congress,” he said.
“If he’s great, and all the plans and all the fraud and abuse that he found are so eminent, why isn’t he here explaining it? You know why! Because he’s out to privatize Social Security. He’s been on television the last couple of days talking exactly about Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid and what he intends to do — privatize it. The American people, some of them may have been born at night, but not last night.”

“We’re an equal branch of government! You start off with a blather. Yet look at the empty seats here. Where is Elon Musk?!”

The outburst came amid growing Democratic unease over Musk’s role in DOGE and his recent public statements. In a Monday interview with FOX Business, Musk peeled back the curtain on DOGE’s mission, claiming entitlement programs like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are riddled with waste and fraud.
“There’s a massive amount of fraud of, basically, people submitting Social Security numbers for Social Security benefits, unemployment, Small Business Administration loans and medical care,” he said. “We’re trying to put a stop to all of that.” He went further, alleging these programs act as “a mechanism by which the Democrats attract and retain illegal immigrants by essentially paying them to come here and then turning them into voters.”
The White House backed Musk’s claims, citing a U.S. Government Accountability Office estimate that fraud costs taxpayers up to $521 billion annually, mostly within entitlement programs. Meanwhile, President Trump has pledged to safeguard Social Security and Medicare, a promise reiterated earlier this week.
But Larson and fellow Democrats aren’t buying it. The congressman accused Musk and the administration of pushing a “big lie” about Democratic intentions. “There’s not a thread of truth to any of that,” he snapped, refuting claims of a plot to lure illegal immigrants with benefits.
He painted Musk as an unaccountable outsider wielding unchecked power, saying, “And, yet, this unaccountable person — not a federal employee, not a volunteer — but a special person who’s not had to go through Senate approval and who this committee is now saying, ‘Yes, we agree with the president. He should not be accountable. He should be able to have free rein and do whatever he wants. We will willingly follow him and do whatever he says because he’s the wealthiest man in the world, and, surely, he must know how to save us from ourselves’.”
The White House fired back, with principal deputy press secretary Harrison Fields dismissing Democratic criticism as sour grapes. “The Democrats have no plan on how to recover from their embarrassing loss, and it shows,” Fields said.
“Instead of working to become a party that focuses on the will of the people, they are hell-bent on keeping their heads in the sand and gaslighting on the widely supported mission of DOGE. Slashing waste, fraud and abuse and becoming better stewards of the American taxpayer’s hard-earned dollars might be a crime to Democrats, but it’s not a crime in a court of law.”
Larson’s ire was further stoked by Musk’s past remarks, including a podcast with Joe Rogan where he called Social Security “the biggest Ponzi scheme of all time.”
The congressman countered that it’s “the No. 1 anti-poverty program for the elderly and for the children of this country,” warning that Musk and Trump “aren’t going to lose a moment’s sleep thinking about the privatization.”
In response, Larson and committee Democrats introduced a resolution demanding transparency from the Trump administration on DOGE’s plans for Social Security.
As tensions simmer, the clash between Musk’s vision for efficiency and Democratic fears of slashed benefits shows no signs of cooling down.
