Leading Democrat is facing the end of their career after this GOP plot surfaced

The Democrat Party is in trouble. Their top lawmakers are failing at every turn.

And a leading Democrat is facing the end of their career after this GOP plot surfaced.

Democrats in the U.S. House can’t stop themselves from embarrassing their party and their country.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is the latest example of this, after she prioritized the country of Somalia over the U.S. during statements made over the weekend at an event in Minnesota.

And now, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has introduced a censure resolution for Omar for those “treasonous statements.”

“These statements by Representative Omar clearly violate the oath she took as an elected Member of Congress to defend and protect the United States Constitution,” the censure resolution says.

“By openly admitting her efforts to advance Somalia’s interests using her position as a United States Representative, Representative Omar has revealed herself to be a foreign agent acting on behalf of a foreign government.”

Omar’s comments were taped on video and became controversial after she said she’d use her authority as a congresswoman to make efforts to fight for the sovereignty of Somaliland in it’s conflict with Ethiopia regarding a deal between the two countries.

The Democrat congresswoman’s words were translated differently from different sources, however.

One translation has Omar saying that she will make sure that the U.S. government “will only do what Somalians in the United States tell them to do.”

“They will do what we want and nothing else. They must follow our orders and that is how we will safeguard the interests of Somalia,” said Omar in a translation by Ambassador Rhoda J. Elmi, who is the deputy minister of foreign affairs for Somaliland.

“Sleep in comfort, knowing I am here to protect the interests of Somalia from the inside of the United States’s system.”

Omar disputed the English version of her comments that were shared all over social media, and argued that they weren’t translated accurately.

Another translation by Abdirashid Hashi, who is the co-founder of the Heritage Institute for Policy Studies, has Omar saying that the United States government will “do what we ask it to do. We should have this confidence in ourselves as Somalis.”

“While I am in Congress, no one will take Somalia’s sea. The United States will not back others to rob us. So, do not lose sleep over that, O Minnesotans,” the translation from Hashi continues.

“The lady you sent to Congress is on this, and she is as cognizant of this interest as you are.”

Rep. Greene doesn’t buy that Omar’s comments were not translated correctly. “I don’t know how her speech and her own words can be falsely translated. The speech that she gave said that she represents the interests of Somalia here within inside the U.S. government.”

“I would love to have her expelled. I’d love to have her deported.”

Last time we checked, a United States representative’s duty is to prioritize the interests of the United States, not some foreign nation. It looks like Rep. Omar didn’t get the memo and she may pay the price for that.
