The Left are showing their true colors. They are against anything that is morally good it seems.
And this radical Leftist promoted a disgusting crime that has Republicans outraged.
The Controversial Rise of Luigi Mangione’s Cult Following
In a whirlwind of debate, radical Leftist Taylor Lorenz, a prominent influencer and former journalist, has stirred the pot by defending Luigi Mangione, the 26-year-old accused of assassinating UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Lorenz has sharply criticized media outlets for their outrage over the growing number of young people who view Mangione as a heroic figure.
“It’s hilarious to see these millionaire media pundits on TV clutching their pearls about someone stanning a m*rderer when this is the United States of America — as if we don’t lionize criminals,” Lorenz said during a lively CNN interview. “As if we don’t stan m*rderers of all sorts. We give them Netflix shows,” she quipped, highlighting what she sees as a cultural hypocrisy.
Mangione faces trial for the chilling December 4 m*rder of Thompson, a 50-year-old executive gunned down outside his Manhattan hotel. Prosecutors allege Mangione meticulously planned the attack to strike fear into the health insurance industry, a motive reportedly detailed in a journal recovered during his arrest in Pennsylvania shortly after the incident.
Since the k*lling, Mangione has unexpectedly become a folk icon among certain radical circles, with some praising his alleged actions as justified. A Reddit group, r/FreeLuigi, boasts over 38,000 members—predominantly young women—who passionately declare his innocence and swoon over his striking appearance. This online community has become a hub for sharing fan art, from Luigi-themed T-shirts depicting him as a saint to intricate sketches, cakes, and embroidery.
The fervor extends offline, too. Mangione’s admirers flood the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where he’s detained, with letters. One fan even slipped a heart-shaped note into a pair of argyle socks sent to him, showcasing the intensity of their devotion.
When CNN’s Donnie O’Sullivan pressed Lorenz on the media’s criticism of the fangirls flocking to Mangione’s court appearances, she doubled down.
“You’re gonna see women especially that feel like, ‘oh my God, here’s this man who’s a revolutionary, who’s famous, who’s handsome, who’s young, who’s smart, he’s a person that seems like this morally good man,’ which is hard to find,” Lorenz explained, her tone light as she and O’Sullivan shared a laugh.
The case has taken a historic turn, with the Trump administration pursuing the death penalty—a rare move that could lead to Manhattan’s first federal execution in seven decades.
“Luigi Mangione’s m*rder of Brian Thompson — an innocent man and father of two young children — was a premeditated, cold-blooded assassination that shocked America,” U.S. Attorney Pam Bondi stated in a recent press release.
“After careful consideration, I have directed federal prosecutors to seek the death penalty in this case as we carry out President Trump’s agenda to stop violent crime and Make America Safe Again,” she added.
Lorenz, no stranger to controversy, has fueled further outrage with her social media posts supporting Mangione. In a December exchange with Piers Morgan, she admitted to feeling “joy” over Thompson’s death, claiming it resonated with “so many other Americans.”
When Morgan challenged her, Lorenz backpedaled slightly, clarifying, “Maybe not joy, but certainly not empathy,” a remark that did little to quell the backlash over her stance on a m*rder that left two children without a father.
As Mangione’s trial unfolds, his unlikely rise as a polarizing figure continues to spark heated discussions about justice, celebrity, and the cultural forces shaping public perception.
