Radical Leftist slapped in the face with sobering reality check by top U.S. attorney

Democrats have completely lost their minds. They’re somehow not afraid of saying the most insane things for all to hear.

And this radical Leftist was slapped in the face with a sobering reality check by a top U.S. attorney.

In a sharp rebuke, Massachusetts’ top federal prosecutor, Leah Foley, has publicly criticized Boston Mayor Michelle Wu for inflammatory comments about Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations in the city. Foley accused Wu of endangering federal agents by likening their work to that of “secret police” during a recent wave of arrests targeting illegal migrants.

The clash began when Wu expressed alarm over ICE’s actions, claiming that residents of Boston, a self-declared sanctuary city, were witnessing people being grabbed off the street by “secret police who are wearing masks.” Foley swiftly countered these remarks, calling them “reckless and inflammatory” in a pointed video statement. She defended the legality and transparency of ICE’s mission, emphasizing that the agency is simply enforcing federal law.

“There are no secrets. ICE agents, along with other federal law enforcement partners, are making immigration arrests. That is no secret. They are arresting individuals who are here illegally, which is a violation of federal law,” Foley stated. “We will not apologize for doing our job.”

Foley also addressed Wu’s claim about masked agents, explaining that federal officers wear face coverings due to safety concerns fueled by misleading narratives. “Federal agents and their children are being threatened, doxxed, and assaulted. That is why they must hide their faces,” she said.

Refuting the idea that ICE is indiscriminately targeting individuals, Foley clarified that every arrest is conducted under federal law. “On the contrary, every arrest or detention is pursuant to and sanctioned by federal law,” she said, stressing that the operations aim to protect Massachusetts residents. She also took a swipe at politicians who, in her view, either misunderstand federal immigration laws or oppose their enforcement outright.

In response, Wu stood by her observations, telling WCVB, “I don’t know of any police department that routinely wears masks.” She argued that her comments reflected the real experiences of Bostonians witnessing ICE’s actions.

Wu has consistently pledged that Boston will not assist ICE in its immigration enforcement efforts, a stance that aligns with the city’s sanctuary policies while the Trump administration intensifies its focus on deportations.

Democratic Resistance to ICE’s Mission

The tension between Wu and Foley reflects a deeper divide, as many Democratic leaders continue to oppose ICE’s efforts to deport criminal illegal aliens from the United States. In cities like Boston, sanctuary policies often limit local cooperation with federal immigration authorities, creating friction when ICE targets individuals who have committed crimes and are in the country illegally. Critics argue that these policies shield dangerous offenders, allowing them to remain in communities despite federal efforts to remove them.

Democratic opposition has frequently centered on portraying ICE operations as overly aggressive or inhumane, even when the agency focuses on individuals with criminal convictions.

For example, some Democratic lawmakers have called for abolishing ICE altogether, claiming it unfairly targets immigrant communities. This rhetoric, as Foley suggested, can escalate tensions, leading to distrust and even threats against federal agents carrying out deportations.

In recent years, Democratic-led cities have passed measures to restrict information-sharing with ICE. These policies have sparked debates about public safety, with ICE officials arguing that they are prevented from swiftly removing individuals who pose a threat, such as those convicted of violent crimes or gang-related activities.

The resistance from Democratic leaders like Wu highlights a persistent challenge for federal authorities seeking to enforce immigration laws in jurisdictions prioritizing sanctuary status over cooperation.

As the Trump administration ramps up its deportation efforts, this divide is likely to deepen. ICE’s focus on criminal illegal aliens—those with records of offenses like drug trafficking, assault, or worse—has been met with pushback from Democrats who argue that such operations disrupt communities and sow fear.

Yet, federal officials maintain that their work is essential to upholding the rule of law and ensuring public safety, even as local leaders continue to challenge their authority.
