The Highest Court in the land recently sent the White House a major ruling. Joe Biden was not happy about it.
And his response to a direct Supreme Court order is utterly astonishing.
In the months leading up to the 2022 midterms, the White House announced a stunning student loan forgiveness plan that would have paid for the student loans debt for millions of Americans at the expense of the American taxpayer.
This plan from the Biden administration was quickly met with legal counters and was dragged into court.
The case eventually made its way to the U.S. Supreme Court where the conservative-leaning High Court bench would determine the fate of Joe Biden’s legally dubious student loan forgiveness plan.
On June 30th, the U.S. Supreme Court handed down a 6-3 ruling that opined from the Court that the student loan forgiveness plan was completely unconstitutional. The Biden administration would no longer be allowed to move forward with its plan.
The Biden administration obviously used this socialist scheme as a ploy to win some votes in the critical 2022 midterms because they were getting clobbered in the polls by all measures.
But now with the unconstitutional plan dead, the Biden administration is vulnerable to the backlash from its own political base who will be angry that he promised a huge plan that he won’t be able to see through.
In the wake of this major legal battle being lost, the Biden administration put out a statement saying that they believe the Supreme Court got it “wrong.”
The White House website sharing Biden’s statement on the ruling reads:
I believe that the Court’s decision to strike down our student debt relief plan is wrong.
But I will stop at nothing to find other ways to deliver relief to hard-working middle-class families. My Administration will continue to work to bring the promise of higher education to every American.
The Biden administration also said that they would be looking at ways to skirt the Supreme Court ruling and cancel student loan debt anyway.
Well, now the White House has announced their next socialist scheme to do so.
According to reports, the Biden administration will be attempting to cancel about $39 billion in student loan debt for nearly 1 million Americans.
“At the start of this administration, millions of borrowers had earned loan forgiveness but never received it. That’s unacceptable,” Education Department official James Kvall shared with the media.
“Today we are holding up the bargain we offered borrowers who have completed decades of repayment.”
Interestingly, the Biden administration believes that those in student loan debt have “earned” their debt being canceled by an executive order of the White House.
They are literally saying they’ve earned the right to have their debt paid for by the American taxpayer in an obviously socialist scheme.
It’s also interesting that the Biden administration is trying to do this right after the U.S. Supreme Court announced their original plan to forgive student loan debt to be unconstitutional.
The Biden administration is effectively saying they don’t care what the rule of law says and they are going to do whatever they can to get what they want.
