Trump is putting his foot down. He’s not playing around at all.
And these countries are shaking in their boots after Donald Trump smacked them with a serious threat.
President Donald Trump isn’t messing around when it comes to dealing with Iran. On Monday, he fired off a stark warning to the world: stay away from business deals with the Islamic Republic, or face the consequences from America. This move shows Trump’s no-nonsense approach to protecting U.S. interests and squeezing the Iranian regime hard.
In a post on Truth Social, the president laid it out plain and simple. “Effective immediately,” he declared, “any Country doing business with the Islamic Republic of Iran will pay a Tariff of 25% on any and all business being done with the United States of America.” That’s Trump drawing a line in the sand, making sure no one props up a regime that’s been a thorn in America’s side for decades.
He didn’t stop there, emphasizing the finality of his decision. “This Order is final and conclusive,” Trump said. “Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
This tariff threat comes at a pivotal moment as massive protests erupt across Iran, shaking the foundations of the mullahs’ grip on power. Ordinary Iranians are fed up with the government.
Experts are calling this the real deal. Behnam Ben Taleblu, a senior director for the Iran program at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, spoke to Morning Wire about the gravity of the situation.
Taleblu highlighted how the people have had enough of half-measures. “Iranians pushed past reform, Iranians pushed past the ballot box and found the street to be the best way to contest the state and make their case,” he stated, “not just to their fellow compatriots and citizens, but to the world that they seek wholesale political change – not evolution, not musical chairs at the top, not another fig leaf, not putting lipstick on a pig.”
The regime is scrambling to contain the chaos, cutting off internet access for citizens for nearly a week.
Protesters aren’t holding back, chanting “Death to Khamenei” in direct defiance of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. It’s a raw display of anger against a system that’s oppressed its own people for too long.
But the Iranian security forces are cracking down viciously, using brute force to silence the dissent.
Reports from the U.S.-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) paint a grim picture: 503 protesters have died in Iran amid the unrest. This kind of bloodshed only exposes the true nature of the regime – tyrannical and desperate.
Back in Washington, the White House is standing firm. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt made it clear on Monday that President Trump is prepared to unleash military might if push comes to shove. It’s a reminder that America under Trump won’t sit idly by while innocents suffer.
Leavitt praised Trump’s strategic mindset. “I think one thing President Trump is very good at is always keeping all of his options on the table, and air strikes would be one of the many, many options that are on the table,” she said.
Of course, diplomacy gets the first shot, as Leavitt pointed out. “Diplomacy is always the first option” for Trump, according to Leavitt.
She also revealed some behind-the-scenes insights. “He told all of you last night that what you’re hearing publicly from the Iranian regime is quite different from the messages the administration is receiving privately,” Leavitt stated.
Trump has been upfront about the regime’s weakening stance. “I think they are tired of being beat up by the United States,” he said.
The president mentioned a meeting in the works but warned he might have to step in sooner due to the escalating violence.
