And this top Democrat levels terrifying threat against this Supreme Court Justice.
The Democrat Party loves to say they are the party of “democracy” and “norms.”
For years, they told Americans that Donald Trump was destroying democracy because he followed the law but the results were not what they wanted.
Nowhere is that more evident than in Trump’s appointments to the federal judiciary.
After they overturned Roe v. Wade, the Left claimed that Trump had packed the Court by filling vacancies that he was tasked to fill.
Now they’re planning on taking legal action.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) proposed that Congress use subpoena power to compel Supreme Court Justice John Roberts to testify before lawmakers about ethics issues.
The Senate Judiciary Committee, which is controlled by Democrats, “is beginning the process of investigating the entanglements and conflicts of interest,” the congresswoman said in an interview with CNN that aired Sunday morning.
“I believe that if Chief John Roberts will not come before Congress for an investigation voluntarily, I believe that we should be considering subpoenas,” she added later.

The Senate Judiciary Committee invited Roberts to testify on Supreme Court ethics and proposed reforms in early May, but the chief justice rejected.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) was on medical leave at the time, suffering from shingles, leaving Democrats without a majority on the panel to overcome GOP opposition if a vote on a subpoena was held.
Feinstein, on the other hand, has since returned to Capitol Hill.
Ocasio-Cortez, citing conservative Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito, stated that Congress “must pass much more binding and stringent ethics guidelines.”
“There also must be impeachment on the table,” she added.
“We have a broad level of tools to deal with misconduct, overreach, and abuse of power. And the Supreme Court has not been receiving the adequate oversight necessary in order to preserve their own legitimacy. And, in the process, they themselves have been destroying the legitimacy of the court, which is profoundly dangerous for our entire democracy.”
Following a series of conservative victories over the past year in rulings on abortion access, religious freedom, affirmative action, and President Joe Biden’s student debt plan, Ocasio-Cortez discussed reining in the power held by the nine justices, including the possibility of expanding the Supreme Court.
“The courts, if they were to proceed without any check on their power, without any balance on their power, then we will start to see an undemocratic and, frankly, dangerous authoritarian expansion of power in the Supreme Court,” Ocasio-Cortez said.
“Which is what we are seeing now, from the overturning of abortion rights, to the ruling that discrimination and, frankly, stripping the full personhood and dignity of LGBTQ people in the United States.”
“These are the types of rulings that signal a dangerous creep towards authoritarianism and centralization of power in the court,” she added.
