Former President Trump is in the fight of his life as the Democrats pile on charges against him. But they weren’t expecting him to do this.
And Trump’s legal team just changed everything with this shocking update.
The last thing the Democrats and their pals in high places want is for Donald Trump or some other America First conservative to get the Republican nomination.
They know Joe Biden’s record – constant policy failures and failing poll numbers.
And that means Biden’s chance of winning back the White House for a second term are slim to none if he faces a strong opponent.
That’s why they are throwing everything they can at Trump in an attempt to gum up his campaign with legal fights.
But they weren’t expecting Trump to pull this move.
Former President Donald Trump should testify in any of his ongoing legal proceedings, including the federal trial on accusations of mishandling sensitive documents and obstructing justice, according to a member of his legal team.
Alina Habba, a representative for Mr. Trump’s legal team, who represents him in various civil disputes, told The Washington Times that she had no problem with the former president testifying in a criminal trial to defend himself.
“I think he’s a fantastic advocate for himself because nobody can say it better than himself what he did and didn’t do,” she said.
Ms. Habba stated that she would prefer Mr. Trump testify in civil lawsuits in which she has represented him.
“I think that he’s very educated, very well-spoken, and he’s done nothing wrong. So when he’s done nothing wrong, you speak to that when you can and when it’s legally sound,” she said.
Mr. Trump, the Republican presidential front-runner in 2024, is facing a slew of state and federal allegations. More charges are likely.
He has been charged in two separate cases. Special counsel Jack Smith charged Mr. Trump with mishandling classified government materials and impeding the government’s efforts to recover them after he left office.
In that instance, Mr. Trump is facing 37 criminal allegations, 31 of which allege he suppressed national defense material. He is also accused of lying about his possession of secret documents and making misleading claims.
Mr. Smith is also looking into Mr. Trump’s efforts to alter the results of the 2020 election, as well as his involvement in the events that led to the riot at the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021.
In April, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg filed 34 felony charges against Mr. Trump. Mr. Trump is accused of illegally arranging a hush-money plot to keep potential sex scandals out of the news before the 2016 presidential election.
A Georgia prosecutor is nearing the end of her probe into Mr. Trump’s efforts to overturn the state’s 2020 election results.
Mr. Trump, according to Ms. Habba, may not testify in all instances, even if they get to trial. She stated that the choice would be made case by case, based on legal strategy.
After his recent deposition, the Left must be terrified at the prospect of Trump testifying.
Video from Trump’s deposition:
Lawyer: “When you said that Ms. Leeds would not be your “first choice,”you were referring to her physical looks, correct?”
Trump: “Just the overall… You wouldn’t be a choice of mine either.”
