Democrats are a complete mess right now. They have a serious leadership issue.
And the White House threw this Leftist leader into humiliation with a scathing rebuke.
White House Defends Bipartisan Outreach on Iran Airstrikes Amid Democrat Criticism
The White House on Monday firmly rejected claims that it failed to notify Democratic congressional leaders about recent airstrikes in Iran, asserting that it made bipartisan efforts to inform key figures, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, who reportedly did not answer the call.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, appearing on “Fox & Friends,” dismissed what she described as “fake news” reports suggesting Democrats were left in the dark about the military action. “First of all, we did make bipartisan calls,” Leavitt said, emphasizing that the administration was not “obligated” to provide advance notice but did so as a courtesy. She specifically noted that Jeffries, a New York Democrat, “couldn’t be reached” when the White House attempted to contact him.
Leavitt stated that a CNN report claiming “the White House did not give a head’s up to Democrats is just completely false.” According to what a source familiar with Jeffries’ situation told the New York Post, his office received a brief, non-detailed notification—similar to those sent to other Democrats—shortly before the strikes were publicly announced. The notification, delivered over an unsecure line, lacked critical details or a classified briefing,
This is Fake News.

The White House made bipartisan courtesy calls to Congressional Leadership and spoke to @SenSchumer before the strike. @RepJeffries could not be reached until after, but he was briefed.

At a Monday afternoon press conference, Jeffries expressed frustration over the lack of communication. “We haven’t gotten an initial briefing from the White House,” he said.
“All we received from the White House was a so-called courtesy call with no explanation as to the rationale for the decision that was taken that could have serious consequences for the American people.”
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, another Democrat in the “Gang of Eight”—a select group of congressional leaders privy to sensitive intelligence briefings—received a similar call with “no details,” according to a source. The Gang of Eight includes top Democratic and Republican leaders from both chambers, as well as key intelligence committee members.
In contrast, Republican leaders, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, Senate Majority Leader John Thune, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rick Crawford, and Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Tom Cotton, were briefed prior to the strikes, according to the New York Post. It remains unclear whether these briefings contained more substantial information or were similarly limited.
However, Sen. Mark Warner, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, received no advance notice, not even a cursory call, his office confirmed.
Rep. Jim Himes (D-CT), suggested he was also not informed beforehand, writing on X after the strikes: “According to the Constitution, we are both sworn to defend, my attention to this matter comes BEFORE bombs fall.”
Leavitt defended the administration’s actions, stressing that President Trump acted within his constitutional authority as Commander-in-Chief under Article II. “The White House was not obligated to call anyone,” she said, adding that the courtesy calls were made despite Democratic claims to the contrary.
“The Democrats are lying about this because they can’t talk about the truth of the success of that operation and the success of our United States military.”
The airstrikes have sparked debate in Congress, with some lawmakers, like Rep. Thomas Massie, arguing that the full Congress should have been consulted. Massie called the strikes unconstitutional.
Leavitt issues a sharp rebuke of Massie, and suggested, “He should be a Democrat, because he’s more aligned with them than with the Republican Party.”
President Trump has vowed to support efforts to challenge Massie in his 2026 midterm primary, while Massie is pushing a House measure to limit Trump’s war powers, with a similar proposal making its way around the Senate.
