Politics can be a dirty game. But this latest action by the vice president goes a step too far.
And Harris just made a sickening claim about Donald Trump that sent the GOP into a fit of rage.
Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign has attempted to shift the blame for the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan onto former President Donald Trump, despite the fact that the withdrawal occurred seven months after he left office.
In a statement released Friday, the Harris-Walz campaign asserted, “Trump left the Biden-Harris Administration with zero plans for an orderly withdrawal — only a dangerous, costly mess.”
Although Trump had initiated negotiations with the Taliban and struck a preliminary deal, the agreement was incomplete by the time he exited office in January 2020. President Biden, contrary to the advice of his military advisers, chose to proceed with a full withdrawal of U.S. troops by September 2021.
This decision led to the Taliban’s rapid takeover of Kabul in August 2021, resulting in the collapse of the U.S.-backed Afghan government and widespread chaos. Thousands of Americans, foreign nationals, and Afghans fled the country in a frantic scramble.
During this period, U.S. troops stationed in Kabul, along with additional forces flown in, were tasked with executing the withdrawal and managing a massive evacuation effort under perilous conditions from a makeshift base at Kabul International Airport, all while encircled by the Taliban.
In the final days of the evacuation, a suicide bomber breached the airport perimeter, resulting in the deaths of 13 American service members. Additionally, a drone strike ordered by U.S. military commanders mistakenly k*lled a humanitarian aid worker and his family, including children.
The Biden administration has faced criticism for not holding anyone accountable for the widely televised mismanagement of the withdrawal. Both President Biden and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin have expressed no regrets over the operation.
Following Trump’s participation in a ceremony honoring the 13 fallen service members and the wounded, the Harris-Walz campaign accused Trump of politicizing the withdrawal, despite the fact that the families of the deceased had invited him to attend and permitted him to film the event. The families responded with indignation, rebuking the Harris-Walz campaign for their criticisms.
In defense of the administration, Harris-Walz 2024 National Security Spokesperson Morgan Finkelstein stated, “Trump shamelessly attacks the Vice President because he hopes he can trick the country into forgetting that his own actions undermined U.S. strategy and put our troops and allies in harm’s way.”
An Axios reporter highlighted that while some Republicans viewed Trump’s deal with the Taliban as problematic, the Biden-Harris administration had explored options to amend the agreement and ultimately pursued Biden’s plan.

National security expert Rebeccah Heinrichs criticized Harris’s narrative on social media, declaring, “This is crazy. Biden and Harris have defended their decision and process for the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal. Campaign staff are not going to get Americans to buy this.”
Trump campaign adviser Jason Miller reminded the public in a post on X that Harris had previously boasted about being the “last person in the room” during Biden’s decision-making process regarding the troop withdrawal.
“Kamala Harris was the last person in the room when the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan was ordered, leading to 13 American service members being k*lled. Harris bragged about her role on-camera,” Miller’s post said.
Kamala Harris and her team are incapable of being accountable for their actions. Harris and Biden are responsible for why this withdrawal failed.
Yet, just like every other radical Leftist these days, they want to blame former President Trump for their failures.
He’s their favorite scapegoat to use when anything goes wrong under their watch. And it’s why Americans are quickly losing their ability to trust the Democrat Party.
