The lawmaker’s life is about to be turned upside down. She never expected to be caught up in this situation.
And this congresswoman was rocked after law enforcement updates latest charges.
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) has had quite the tumultuous year.
In November of 2022, she barely squeaked out a win during the midterm elections.
Boebert is now changing districts in the state in an attempt to have a better chance at winning another term in 2024.
Back in September of last year, the congresswoman was removed from a broadway show after causing a disturbance. That led to an embarrassing controversy that she had to deal with.
And last week, Boebert was accused of committing domestic violence against her ex-husband, Jayson Boebert, according to The Washington Post.
Jayson claimed that Boebert “punched” him a couple times in the face at a restaurant in the congresswoman’s district last Saturday.
According to Silt Police who were called to the scene, they found Lauren Boebert who was “cooperative” while her ex-husband “was highly intoxicated, yelling at officers, and was uncooperative with the investigation.”
“Although he claimed he had been punched in the face, officers observed no marks or injury on Jayson Boebert to corroborate he had actually been assaulted,” the police said in a statement.
“Staff at Miner’s Claim restaurant requested Jayson leave the restaurant due to the level of disturbance he was creating. Officers requested Jayson Boebert to leave the restaurant multiple times; however, he was uncooperative and was physically removed from the restaurant by law enforcement personnel.”
The police added that there was no video surveillance at the restaurant that could prove Jayson Boebert’s claims.
There have also been no witnesses that have come forward to prove or disprove the claims.
“Furthermore, Jayson Boebert contacted Silt Police to recant any claims of domestic violence,” the statement continued.
“Due to a lack of any evidence, the allegations of Domestic Violence against Rep. lauren Boebert are unfounded and the investigation into Rep. Lauren Boebert is closed.”
Rep. Boebert can now rest easy knowing that this controversy will be put to bed after she wasn’t charged with assault of her ex-husband.
That’s certainly good news for her as she begins to focus on her reelection campaign in her new district.
But it would probably be wise for her to try and avoid anymore conflicts and forms of controversy moving forward.
The Left won’t hesitate to use anything against her in an order to shrink the GOP majority in the House come November of this year.
