If you thought you were safe, think again. It’s only a matter of time until you get a knock at the door.
Because an FBI agent admitted to targeting Americans for this shocking reason.
Citizens of this great nation are guaranteed their God-given right to free speech.
It doesn’t matter if you agree or disagree with someone, everyone should be able to speak their mind.
At least, that’s how the story is supposed to go. Now we’re learning that’s far from the truth.
FBI officials recently informed an Oklahoma lady who was accosted at her door that the bureau sends officers to interrogate Americans about their social media posts “all day long” in a “effort to keep everybody safe.”
Rolla Abdeljawad, a Stillwater resident, recorded a video of her chat with the agents who appeared to her home last week, which her attorney Hassan Shibly later shared on X.
The video shows them informing her that Facebook had sent copies of her posts to the agency.
Ms. Abdeljawad informed them that she did not want to speak with them without her counsel and insisted that they display their FBI credentials, which they rejected.
According to Fox News, she later commented on Facebook that she confirmed with local police that the men who appeared at her home were FBI agents.
“Facebook gave us a couple of screenshots of your account,” one agent said in the video.
Ms. Abdeljawad responded, “So we no longer live in a free country, and we can’t say what we want?”
“No, we totally do,” the other agent replied. “That’s why we’re not here to arrest you or anything. We do this every day, all day long. It’s just an effort to keep everybody safe and make sure nobody has any ill will.”
There you have it folks, FBI agents are openly admitting that social media companies are passing along comments made by Americans so the FBI can “check-up” on people.
What kind of 1984 nanny state are we living in?
Following that, the woman said, “All I’ve done is exercise my right as an American citizen on a public social media platform with my personal opinions.”
The FBI defended its actions in a statement to The Washington Times, saying, “Every day, the FBI engages with members of the public in furtherance of our mission, which is to protect the American people and uphold the Constitution of the United States. We can never open an investigation based solely on First Amendment-protected activity.
“The FBI is committed to ensuring our activities are conducted with a valid law enforcement or national security purpose, and uphold the constitutional rights of all Americans.”
Although the agents did not clarify what Ms. Abdeljawad wrote on the internet that prompted their visit, she had lately posted about her frustration with the Hamas-Israel battle. In one post, she referred to Israel as “Israhell.”
But it doesn’t matter what she was posting. You don’t have to be anti-Israel to believe that anyone can speak their mind regardless of viewpoint.
The only thing that isn’t protected is calling for actual violence against someone. Everything else if fair game.
That’s not how the FBI wants it. They want Big Brother’s eyes always on you.
Watch out.
