Donald Trump is viewed as an enemy by many. Some of those people want to make sure he’s never able to get power again.

And former President Trump made a bone-chilling confession about this major threat.

Former President Donald Trump expressed concerns about the safety of his rallies during an interview on NewsNation’s “CUOMO” show on Wednesday.

As he prepares for an upcoming rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, the former president pointed to difficulties in securing proper protection, which he attributes to the White House.

“Well, I’m always worried,” Trump admitted when asked if he had safety concerns about his return to Butler, a location tied to a past assassination attempt.

He emphasized his belief that the White House had made it “very difficult” to secure adequate protection, stating, “I think that the White House isn’t treating us very good.”

Trump, 78, went on to highlight the size of the crowds he draws, claiming they are significantly larger than those of any other political figure. “I get crowds that are ten times bigger than anybody else, 20 times bigger than anybody else, and we’re entitled to security,” he said.

In recent weeks, calls for Trump to receive enhanced Secret Service protection, comparable to that of President Biden, have grown louder. This follows a second failed assassination attempt last month at Trump’s Palm Beach golf course.

During the incident, a Secret Service agent intercepted an alleged attempt by Ryan Wesley Routh to assassinate Trump. However, due to Trump not being the current president, security around the golf course was lighter.

Congress recently responded to these security concerns, unanimously passing legislation that increases the Secret Service protection for Trump to match the level provided to a sitting U.S. president and vice president. President Biden, 81, signed the bill into law on Tuesday.

Trump reiterated his frustrations with the security arrangements for his rallies, once again pointing to challenges from the White House.

“The White House makes it very difficult,” he explained, sharing an example of a Wisconsin event where they anticipated a crowd of 60,000 but were unable to secure enough protection.

“It’s very unfair the way we’ve been treated,” he continued, adding, “We have to get better security. It’s really being led more so by the White House than anybody else.”

Despite these complaints, Trump acknowledged that the Secret Service is doing what it can.

He expressed appreciation for their efforts, while noting that their resources are limited by external factors. “[T]hey’re only allowed to do what the White House is letting them do,” Trump said.

The former president also reflected on the overwhelming bipartisan support for boosting his security, calling it “the first unanimous vote I can remember in Congress.”

Trump’s rally in Butler, scheduled for Oct. 5, is set to take place at the same venue where, 12 weeks earlier, an assassination attempt left Trump wounded and resulted in the deaths of two attendees.

The assailant, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was shot and k*lled by a Secret Service sniper after opening fire at the event. A Senate investigation later identified several “preventable” security lapses by the Secret Service in the lead-up to the shooting.
