Senate Democrat breaks out in applause for Donald Trump

The Left rarely gives Trump a win. But one man can’t help himself.

Because this Senate Democrat broke out in applause for Donald Trump.

Fetterman Hails Trump’s Role in Hostage Release Agreement

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., a vocal advocate for Israel, extended congratulations to President Donald Trump on Wednesday following the president’s announcement of a breakthrough in Middle East negotiations. The deal marks phase one of a peace initiative between Hamas and Israel, aimed at securing the release of all hostages.

Fetterman emphasized unity across party lines in supporting the U.S. ally, posting on X:

“I congratulate @POTUS on this historic peace plan that releases all the hostages. Now, enduring peace in the region is possible. Our parties are different but we have a shared ironclad commitment to Israel and its people.” His message included a screenshot of Trump’s Truth Social update.

The development follows Israel’s military response to the brutal Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas assault, which involved widespread violence including killings, sexual assaults, and abductions.

Trump Announces Phase One of Peace Plan

In a Wednesday Truth Social statement, Trump revealed the agreement’s details, positioning it as a pivotal step toward stability.

“I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first Phase of our Peace Plan. This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace.”

Trump continued, “All Parties will be treated fairly! This is a GREAT Day for the Arab and Muslim World, Israel, all surrounding Nations, and the United States of America, and we thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, who worked with us to make this Historic and Unprecedented Event happen. BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS!”

Trump has been actively mediating the talks, building on efforts to resolve the conflict that has persisted since the 2023 attack.

Calls Grow for Recognition of Trump’s Diplomacy

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and other figures have nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize in light of the progress. GOP Rep. Randy Fine, R-Fla., went further, posting on X that such an honor falls short of the achievement’s magnitude:

“The Nobel Peace Prize isn’t enough. If every living hostage is returned and lasting peace in the Middle East is secured, we should repeal the 22nd Amendment and thank the Lord for every day @realdonaldtrump can be our President. There will never be another one like him.”

The phase one accord sets the stage for further negotiations, with hopes it could lead to broader regional reconciliation.
