Corruption is a major issue in the Democrat Party. But they don’t seem to care.
And an American state is in trouble after a corrupt Democrat announces their campaign for governor.
Democrat congressman Eric Swalwell has announced his campaign for governor of California. He made the announcement during an episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
Swalwell couldn’t resist taking a cheap shot at President Trump before the host even asked a question.
When Trump called Kimmel a no-talent hack, Swalwell fired back on X: “He’s going to hate tonight’s episode.”
The Leftist’s number-one campaign promise is literally “keep Trump out of our homes, streets and lives.”
That’s it. That’s the headline goal. Not fixing the homeless camps that look like third-world slums, not stopping the smash-and-grab mobs, not bringing back the businesses fleeing the state.
He claims he’ll also “write the story of a new California on lower prices, on business growth and modernizing the state.”
Swalwell brags to MediasTouch that he’s “the son of two Republicans, the son of a cop,” and worked as a prosecutor.
This is the same Eric Swalwell who got caught up in that Chinese spy scandal with “Fang Fang” and somehow still has a security clearance.
He’s jumping into a Democrat primary that already looks like a clown car: Xavier Becerra, Katie Porter, billionaire Tom Steyer. On the Republican side you’ve got Riverside Sheriff Chad Bianco and Steve Hilton.
Gavin Newsom, meanwhile, is term-limited and already measuring the drapes for a 2028 presidential run.
Swalwell’s whole pitch boils down to bashing President Trump. He’s betting that fear and Trump derangement still pay the bills in California politics.
Maybe he’s right. The same voters keep electing the people who turned the Golden State into a cautionary tale.
But out in the real California, the one beyond the coastal bubble, people are sick of skyrocketing crime, insane housing costs, and politicians who care more about late-night TV applause than open-air drug markets.
If Swalwell thinks screaming “Trump!” is a governing agenda, he’s in for a rude awakening. Californians aren’t just tired of the chaos; they’re furious at the smug elites who created it.
The 2026 race just got a lot noisier. One thing’s for sure: Eric Swalwell isn’t running to fix California. He’s running to keep the grift alive.
California deserves better than another career swamp creature who mistakes Trump hatred for a platform.
