It’s well known that the media is a key ally of the Democrats. But this incident goes a bridge too far.
As Americans are appalled after discovering this media-coverup of Kamala Harris.
Members of the media are making efforts to distance Vice President and presumptive Democrat nominee Kamala Harris from the illegal immigration crisis, despite her being publicly designated as the “border czar” under President Joe Biden.
Numerous journalists have rallied to defend Harris, claiming she was never responsible for handling the illegal immigration crisis.
This is in contrast to Biden’s own statements, where he called her “the most qualified person to do it” and tasked her with addressing the situation at the southern border.
Despite Biden’s past statements, the media continues to create distance between Harris and the ongoing crisis, which has seen a record number of illegal border crossings during the Biden-Harris administration.
CNN’s Dana Bash stated that Harris “was put in charge … of combatting the roots of immigration, she was not and is not the border czar.”
Time Magazine echoed this sentiment, asserting that “Harris was never Biden’s border czar,” and clarifying that her role was “to focus on examining and improving the underlying conditions” in several Latin American countries.
Similarly, USA Today published an article this week, also distancing Harris from the immigration record of the Biden-Harris administration.
The article emphasized that Harris was not “put in charge of the border,” but was instead focused on addressing the “root causes” of mass migration to the U.S. border.
Axios revised a three-year-old article, initially acknowledging Harris as the “border czar” appointed by Biden. The update came after a story accused Trump of unfairly labeling her with the “border czar” title.
However, Biden did specifically assign Harris to lead efforts aimed at “stemming the migration to our southern border.”
“I’ve asked her, the VP, today — because she’s the most qualified person to do it — to lead our efforts with Mexico and the Northern Triangle and the countries that help — are going to need help in stemming the movement of so many folks, stemming the migration to our southern border,” Biden stated in March 2021.
At the same event, Harris assured the public that the administration would “enforce the law” at the southern border.
“While we are clear that people should not come to the border now, we also understand that we will enforce the law,” she said.
CNN’s Lester Holt previously pressed Harris on her record on the border, correcting her when she claimed, “we’ve been to the border.” Holt retorted, “you haven’t been to the border.” Harris responded, “and I haven’t been to Europe.”
These stories surface as polls indicate that immigration is a critical issue for voters heading into the November election. An increasing share of Americans favor reducing immigration and ramping up mass deportations.
Another poll revealed that only 36% of voters approve of the Biden administration’s performance on immigration.
The Biden-Harris administration has overseen an awful illegal immigration crisis, with around 10 million illegal aliens unlawfully crossing the border since they took office.
