The world is becoming a scarier place by the day. Safety is becoming less assured.

And an attack on the incoming Trump admin from this dangerous foreign threat has the FBI desperate for answers.

Trump’s Pick For FBI Director The Subject Of Iranian Hacking Attack

Kash Patel, tapped by President-elect Donald Trump to lead the FBI, was recently informed by the bureau that he had been the target of an Iranian hacking operation.

The cyberattack may have compromised some of Patel’s communications, CNN reported earlier this week.

This incident marks yet another effort by Iranian hackers to infiltrate Trump’s inner circle.

In September, the Justice Department filed charges against three individuals who are part of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) for hacking Trump campaign staff and leaking sensitive information.

The leaked data was allegedly shared with media outlets and the campaign of President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, aimed at undermining Trump’s reelection bid.

The Justice Department described the hacking operation as a “wide-ranging campaign” that used fake online personas and phishing emails to target four Trump campaign operatives, journalists, current and former government officials, and other individuals.

Among the stolen materials were a dossier on Vice President-elect JD Vance and Trump’s debate preparation documents for his June 27 showdown with Biden.

The indictment names IRGC operatives Masoud Jalili, Seyyed Ali Aghamiri, and Yasar Balaghi as perpetrators of the scheme.

Their hacking activity reportedly began in January 2020, following Trump’s order to eliminate IRGC Commander Qassem Soleimani in a drone strike in Iraq.

Kash Patel was announced as Trump’s pick to replace FBI Director Christopher Wray this past Saturday.

It was a move that angered Leftists and the political establishment because they see Patel as someone who will disrupt the deep state that has become so embedded in the federal government.

A New York native and close Trump ally, Patel held several key positions during Trump’s first term, including serving on the National Security Council, as a senior adviser to the acting Director of National Intelligence, and as chief of staff to the acting U.S. Secretary of Defense.

To assume the role, Patel would need Senate confirmation and either the resignation or dismissal of Christopher Wray, whose 10-year term runs until 2027.

Meanwhile, the Trump transition team announced on Tuesday that it would let the FBI conduct background checks on Trump’s picks for officials in his upcoming presidential administration.

This latest revelation highlights the continued attempts by hostile actors – like Iran – to disrupt U.S. political processes and target high-level officials connected to the Trump administration.
