Schumer is fighting hard to help maintain the Democrats’ majority in the U.S. Senate. But his party’s fate may be sealed.
As Chuck Schumer was brought to his knees after reading this devastating election news.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is under immense pressure this election cycle.
He needs to work hard to campaign for Democrats in their U.S. Senate races so that they can maintain a majority in the upper chamber of Congress.
But based off recent polling, that majority could very well swing towards the Republicans, which would be an utter disaster for Schumer and his Leftist pals on Capitol Hill.
Sheehy Takes Lead in Montana Senate Race, Tester Faces Uphill Battle
In a recent poll conducted by Public Opinion Strategies for the Montana Republican Party, Tim Sheehy, the Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate, has pulled ahead by seven points over the incumbent Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT). The survey, released Sunday, shows that 51 percent of likely voters are now backing Sheehy. This includes 43 percent who are “definitely” committed to voting for him, 7 percent who “probably” will, and another 1 percent who lean toward supporting the Trump-backed candidate.
Jacob Rubashkin, deputy editor of Inside Elections, pointed out in a post on X that this is a “pretty bleak result for Jon Tester,” especially given that the poll was sponsored by the Montana GOP.

Tester, who is now seven points behind, has garnered support from 44 percent of respondents.
Among his backers, 40 percent “definitely” plan to vote for him, while 3 percent “probably” will, and 1 percent is leaning his way.
Libertarian Sid Daoud and Green Party candidate Michael Downey drew smaller shares, with Daoud securing 2 percent and Downey picking up 1 percent.
This marks a significant shift for Sheehy, who, in a June poll from the same polling firm, was tied with Tester at 46 percent each. Since then, Sheehy has seen a five-point gain, while Tester has lost two points of support.
The issues driving voters toward Sheehy are largely tied to key concerns for Montanans: illegal immigration, inflation, and the cost of living.
When asked to name the two most important issues in the upcoming election, 39 percent of respondents cited illegal immigration, while 34 percent pointed to inflation and the cost of living. The economy and jobs came in as the third-highest concern at 31 percent, followed closely by abortion at 28 percent.
With Montana being a traditionally red state, this growing momentum for Sheehy presents a significant challenge for Tester, as well as for Democrats hoping to retain control of the Senate.
Tester’s seat is crucial, especially with Republicans already expected to win in West Virginia, where Sen. Joe Manchin (I-WV) is retiring, and Gov. Jim Justice (R-WV) is heavily favored to succeed him.
Should Republicans secure Manchin’s seat, they would be at 50 Senate seats—assuming they can hold onto all current GOP seats. With limited options for Democrats to flip Republican-held seats in states like Texas and Florida, a victory for Sheehy could give Republicans the majority they’ve been aiming for. Additionally, the GOP has further chances to pick up Senate seats in key battleground states such as Ohio, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
The poll surveyed 500 likely voters between August 18 and 20 and has a margin of error of ± 4.38 percentage points.
