The Washington, D.C. Swamp detests the former president. But now a report is coming out of the nation’s capitol that could change everything for Trump.
And Congress delivers Donald Trump news that he never expected to hear.
Donald Trump is the presumptive presidential nominee for the Republican Party in 2024.
He not only wiped the floor with his fellow Republican competitors in the GOP primary, but he is also currently leading President Joe Biden in several national polls.
Republicans in Congress have started to quickly come out with their endorsements of the former president as they are ready for him to win back the White House and kick Biden to the curb.
And now some GOP legislators are wanting to show their appreciation for what Trump has done for America so far.
Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) introduced a new bill that would rename Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia to Donald J. Trump International Airport.
“In my lifetime, our nation has never been greater than under the leadership of President Donald J. Trump,” Reschenthaler said to Fox News Digital.
“As millions of domestic and international travelers fly through the airport, there is no better symbol of freedom, prosperity, and strength than hearing ‘Welcome to Trump International Airport’ as they land on American soil.”
Fox News Digital was able to get ahold of the bill’s language, which showed that if it were to pass, “the Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia shall after the date of the enactment of this Act be known and designated as the ‘Donald J. Trump International Airport.'”
The bill also stated that, “Any reference in any law, regulation, map, document, paper, or other record of the United States to the airport referred to in subsection (a) shall be considered to be a reference to the Donald J. Trump International Airport.”
Rep. Reschenthaler’s proposed legislation also has the support of six Republican co-sponsors.
According to Congress.gov, those co-sponsors are Reps. Michael Waltz (R-FLA), Andy Ogles (R-TN), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Troy Nehls (R-TX), Chuck Fleischmann (R-TN), and Barry Moore (R-AL).
Unfortunately for Reschenthaler and the other Republicans who have sponsored the bill, it’s highly unlikely that the Democrat-controlled Senate will pass it. But if it does pass, it will be the second airport in the Washington, D.C. area that is named after a Republican president. The first of which being Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, which is located in Arlington, Virginia.
“In 1998, Congress renamed the National Airport in Washington after one of our great presidents, Ronald Reagan. It is only fitting that we would do the same for another one of our greatest presidents, Donald J. Trump, especially as he stands against the onslaught of weaponized government to fight for Americans like us,” Rep. Moore said to Fox News Digital.
Rep. Gosar also added that “I can see no more fitting recognition than naming both airports in our nation’s capital after America’s two best presidents: DCA after President Reagan and Dulles after President Trump.”
Imagine how enraged the Left would be if one of the biggest airports in the country was renamed to honor former President Donald Trump?
They would absolutely lose their minds.
And that alone might make it worth it to have Dulles International renamed to Trump International.
