The aftermath of the Biden dropout news isn’t clear. But it’s going to get ugly.
As Congress is preparing serious consequences for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
Republicans Demand President Biden’s Resignation Following Reelection Withdrawal
In a political twist that sent shockwaves through Washington, President Joe Biden announced on Sunday that he would not seek the Democratic Party’s nomination for a second term. The decision, made public in a post on X (formerly Twitter), was accompanied by his endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee. This announcement triggered immediate and intense reactions from Republican leaders, who called for Biden to resign from the presidency.
Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana was one of the first to voice his demands, taking to X to declare, “If Joe Biden is not fit to run for President, he is not fit to serve as President. He must resign the office immediately. November 5 cannot arrive soon enough.”
At this unprecedented juncture in American history, we must be clear about what just happened. The Democrat Party forced the Democrat nominee off the ballot, just over 100 days before the election.

Having invalidated the votes of more than 14 million Americans who selected Joe…
Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio, the Republican vice-presidential nominee, had preemptively questioned Biden’s capacity to remain in office should he end his reelection bid. “If Joe Biden ends his reelection campaign, how can he justify remaining President?” Vance queried in a Sunday morning post. “Not running for reelection would be a clear admission that President Trump was right all along about Biden not being mentally fit enough to serve as Commander-in-Chief. There is no middle ground.”
He saw this a mile away and started asking the important questions before the officialy announcement even came through from Joe Biden that the would be ending his campaign for a second term.

Not running for reelection would be a clear admission that President Trump was right all along about Biden not being mentally fit enough to serve as Commander-in-Chief.
There is no middle ground.
Following Biden’s announcement, a chorus of Senate Republicans echoed the call for his resignation. Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri responded directly to Biden’s post, stating, “Then RESIGN your office. If you can’t run a mere political campaign, you can’t be President.” Senator Tommy Tuberville of Alabama joined in, criticizing the media and bureaucracy while demanding Biden’s immediate resignation: “Joe Biden was never mentally fit to be President. I join my colleagues in demanding that President Biden resign immediately.”
Senator Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee also took to X to urge Biden to step down. The sentiment was shared by several House Republicans. Representative Nancy Mace of South Carolina argued that if Biden lacked the cognitive ability to seek reelection, he similarly lacked the capacity to serve out his term. “If he doesn’t resign, Kamala should invoke the 25th Amendment. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander,” Mace asserted.
If Joe Biden does not have the cognitive ability to seek reelection, he does not have the cognitive ability to serve the remainder of his term. If he doesn’t resign, Kamala should invoke the 25th Amendment.

What’s good for the goose is good for the gander - for consistency...
Representative Lauren Boebert of Colorado echoed the sentiment, posting, “If Biden can’t run for office, he should resign. Immediately.” Other Republican representatives, including Elise Stefanik of New York, Tom Tiffany of Wisconsin, John James of Michigan, and Pat Fallon of Texas, also called for Biden’s resignation.
As the political landscape adjusts to Biden’s unexpected decision, the pressure from Republican lawmakers marks the heightened partisan tensions and the high stakes of the upcoming presidential election. Simply put, the GOP isn’t going to just let Democrats get away with whatever they want just because it’s politically convenient for them.
The ‘Pro-Democracy’ Crowd Throws Democracy Out The Window
There’s about one hundred days until the election this November that Joe Biden was supposed to be in. The Democrat convention starts less that one month from now. There’s absolutely no way that Joe Biden was planning all along that he would be dropping out at this exact moment in time. If he was and he told someone, they would’ve told him he was out of his mind and stopped that from happening.
No, this was a real-time decision. The decision for Joe Biden to step aside likely came the week ahead of the announcement. Which begs some serious questions about what the political parties should and should not be allowed to do just because it’s convenient for them.
The reality is that Joe Biden did resoundingly win the Party’s nomination in 2020 and in 2024. Forcing a candidate like Kamala Harris onto the Democrat voters just because they feel like they have to is an idea under much scrutiny right now. There must be another fair primary for Democrat voters to pick someone in the wake of Joe Biden’s suspended campaign.
Don’t hold your breath though. The Party that has been lecturing Americans about how they need to vote for them to “save democracy” in 2024 doesn’t really care about democracy at all. Not after what they’ve just done.
